A pretty amazing week for Alpha Mummy
Last week was a pretty amazing run for Alpha Mummy:
1) Jennifer's story about 'The 7 worst sexy toys for chidren' was picked up, first by Digg (bringing 75,000 visitors and a little bit of swearing in the comments) then by The Sunday Times (bringing a rather better class of reader, we hope)
2) Our ads are still up on the tube. Welcome, commuting mums!
3) Caitlin namechecked us in 'Haggard sisters, let’s end our silence' and Sarah wrote about Alpha Mummy in this story about the 1930s Collective Correspondence Club (Mr Sarah also gave us a mention in a column about sleep deprivation)
4) 56 blogs have linked to us already.
5) Best of all, we've had 300+ comments (Thanks to early adopters keiransmum, mad muthas, spymum, and everyone else with less memorable names), and dozens of emails and ideas to alphamummy@timesonline.co.uk. Thanks for all your support and feedback, and please keep the ideas coming.
6) Finally, Nicola writes: "Not being IT literate do I need to sign up for the site or anything or just log on
when I get a whole 5 minutes spare?" You don't need to subscribe, just come back and see what's changed. However, you can subscribe to Alpha Mummy using our RSS feed, which will let you know when new posts appear. If you're using Firefox 2 or Internet Explorer 7, you can click here, and should get to a page which shows you how to subscribe using 'Live Bookmarks' or separate blog readers like Bloglines or Google Reader. If you read a lot of blogs, RSS is a really good way to keep in touch with them. If you just read one or two, it's probably not worth the effort. Here's a useful BBC introduction to RSS.
