What is going on?
Help me, people. E4 has suddenly, in that rubbish way, disappeared from my TV. I don't know why (and frankly with ITV3 and endless repeats of Tales of the Unexpected I'm not exactly bereft) but I figure, what is happening in that House? Is it still going on? Is anyone watching it? I have not seen a peep of tabloid interest in it. It's not exactly bubbling away as a topic at a water-cooler near me. But is it secretly brilliant? Am I missing a surreal work of genius? Is it all gonna kick off? Is an international race controversy about to be sparked? Or am I right to give my time to my new love, Glenn Close in Damages?

You are not missing anything, Tim. Get back to Glen Close.

Answers:
Happening? nothing;
Going on? imperceptibly.
Watching? just about;
Secretly brilliant? jury still out on that one;
Surreal? In the sense that nothing really tangible is happening but you can find things if you look very suspiciously out of the corner of your eye, yes;
No it is not going to kick off because they are all very nice and get on intolerably well - never thought I would find this a problem but where are the loud chavs and stupidity which has given BB its charm?
No race controversy, everyone is especially tolerant and not seeing the colour of fellow housemates' skin, only the colour of their souls. And no one has indulged in any ill-advised ghetto-talk to any of the (alarmingly fit) black guys.
Actually there was a (sort of) good moment when the art woman had to show off her talent, which is ostensibly cleaning squares, and you could see "WHAT THE HELL IS SHE DOING HERE WITH ALL OF US PRODIGIES?" etched onto everyone's faces.
Stick with Glenn on Sundays, and keep trying for E4 on other nights. (Actually she was on 20 minutes after BB finished, anyway. Sorry to be pernickety.)
Don't know where everyone is. It seems the whole technicality of E4 has completely floored the lot of you. Or maybe you are just bored. At least you could come here and tell us to our faces.

Tim, it's turning out to be surprisingly entertaining. The talent show where they were given the chance to showcase their 'special talents' was very amusing. I also enjoyed Matt Lucas's wry comments, so I have to admit that the hijacker thing isn't as bad as I had expected. There were some touching moments in last night's highlights between Ian Wright and the inmates.
Jade is starting to crack and seems to be a bit of an attention seeker. For the most part, the others seem quite chilled and together. Give it a go if you can get retuned!

Update for you - Emilia - self obsessed, Anthony - obvious winner, Jon & Liam - being left out a bit, Jade - not as confident as the others and a bit looked down on by them, Jeremy - plain irritating, Amy - witty, good all rounder, Jay - watched too much Ugly Betty.
Hope that helps.

Thanks v much. If anyone has any bright ideas on how to retrive E4 from pit of TV despond, or wherever it's gone, let me know...

Well, after the first night I lost the will to watch any more...I used to be an ardent BB fan once upon a time, long long ago when housemates were naive and innocent. They are all far too savvy and self aware now. Pity.
Damages was brilliant last night and I am on tenterhooks already! Can't wait for the next episode. Glen Close is the new JR!

Just a postscript after seeing today's episode:
Am really loving it today. I think it depends on the "Big Brother" on duty, but I also think there are some amusing moments, like the play fighting between the boys, the orgy revelations from Mr Geek, and just stuff. I like that they get on now. Sure, there may not be fights, but it's good to watch. But why does Amelia sound like she's from the 40s?
*smile*

Hi Everyone - I'm new to the blog. I'm loving BB Hijack and thought the nice young people were both refreshing and inspirational and then ubergeek boy went all weird (well weirder) on us; his hair went from windswept to trainee sumo wrestler whilst claiming to be the youngest swinger in town. I'm not sure I buy any of it and what will his poor mother think?
Jade is looking more like a ventriloquist's dummy with each passing day - the eyes are getting wider and the grin more fixed as she desperately tries to prove she can match all the talents in house. At least John was joking about that on night 1 but I suspect Jade has a little voice in her head going "I can do that, I can do that" on a continual loop. Her inevitable meltdown should prove good telly.

Hi Guys, sorry I've been quiet - been keeping head down as accountant is haunting me for 2006-2007 bloody accounts and am working a**** off.
Though initially rather disappointed with, dare I say it, very lame first Hijacker Matt Lucas and then Ian Wright (better but not much more) had as good as given up.
Well, Curtains up for Allan Cumins (Thousand excuses for getting his name wrong - you know when you are wrong but can't help it!). Really hope you know who I mean. He was great and so were his tasks compared with the two previous Hijackers (LOVE his Scottish accent too!)
Lots of action and interaction with Housemates. Great Stuff. Next Kelly Osborne and, yet again, chats with HM's you couldn't possibly conceive a 'normal' BB could get away with, interaction wise. Especially 'counseling sessions' with Kelly as they are in the same age group. But also the very frank bollockings where needed!
Next celebrity up is Mr. Brand himself and, from previews on BBLB, I can't wait.
Please, please, my friends - work out how to use E4 and enjoy the series with me - or, if you don't, let me enjoy your poisonous comments (ah well, you know who I mean and what I mean), else I fear for the survival of this blog this summer.
I NEED YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say I'm starting to get sucked in to this series - I know this because I was actually gutted when I heard who was up for eviction!
Victor I can kind of understand as he's a bit of a grumpy sod, but not Jezza! I don't think the others in the house grasp the concept of humour. I'm gutted that the miserable cynical guys are up. And being miserable and cynical myself, I'm convinced Jade will survive and one of them, probably Victor, will be out of there. Boooooo!!

Lianne, I am with you. Greatly looking forward to Russell tonight.
Kelly was brutally frank, esp. with Jade (yes you ARE annoying sometimes).
Perhaps we are not seeing all but I rather like Jeremy and don't think he deserved his nomination. Not with a dweeby little creep like Liam knocking about. His bedroom tales have been quite the ghastliest I have ever heard on BB.
Amy seems OK and reminds me of Debby Harry when she smiles.

Why are these intellegent people subjecting themselves to this - Surely if you go to Oxford and reckon that you are bright would you appear on E4 darling - not
As for Miss Winchester , bless her at least she is a realist who has parents who can be proud of her. As for John the Scot heaven help us all

Tim - just go to auto store to update your channel list - your E4 has probably moved down a couple or something. Russell Brands hijack tonight was class.

Honestly, you lot are pathetic. I can't believe that you official bloggers who can post stuff on the internet and be all clever in your reviews can't work out how to get a channel that most people have nowadays.
Russell Brand was hysterical today, buttering up all the contestants individually and inciting tense, jealous conversations between Amy and Emilia about what he'd said to them. It was class puppeteering.
I remember everyone being really upset about the cancellation of CBB in the summer, and now that they've given us something to blog about, you lot all start griping just because you have to venture beyond the terrestrials.
Well I'm not having it.
That's all I have to say. Have a nice day.

As Jessica says, it depends on the Big Brother on duty. Russell was brilliant yesterday. One of the best BB episodes ever.

Ho-hum, I get the impression that most dedicated bloggers here feel the same as I ... that this BB format is just not working. In a word, it's BORING and most of the 'celeb' Big Brothers just aren't doing it for us.
However, I do have a tiny bit of good news - the much missed Hansgruber has asked me to pass on to you all his good wishes, the promise that he will rejoin us when the PROPER BB returns in the summer, and to explain that the reason he is not with us now is that certain of the celeb BBs p*** him off. Having watched the puerile orders given by Matt Lucas to the game but bewildered Scots John in the first programme, I can only agree with him. For myself, I am fast losing the will to continue watching this loser of a programme.

Is no one else watching?

it's horrible. truly horrible. shallow, self congratulatory, so in love with themselves. but worst of all. dull. deeply, deeply dull. just saying everything is great all the time doesn't make it great. the triumph of appearance over substance - what else would you expect from the blair generation?
dull. dull. dullards. i hate them all, and wish so very much that they could all lose. who wins? who gives a stuff? not a personality among them. i am what i buy - i am what i consume - please give me my deal with nuts magazine.

boring boring boring.
I hope they have some good ideas for the summer BB...

E4? Can't even get half decent Ch5 reception on my telly let alone digital. What was wrong with Channel 4?
