The wheels on the bicycle...
The bicycle task - endless - is a mini-metaphor for the hulking slab of BB itself as it lumbers on through this strange, cloudy summer. What on earth happened to Belinda on that bike? Had she seen a ghost? One of RockFace's aliens? The essential emptiness at the heart of our being? I wondered if in the editing, the producers were trying to show Rex to be a truly arrogant arse (no editing needed some of you might say). But surely Bx3's removal is a given. If she survives till Friday. Can someone explain the spy/onions/Mo in ruby dressing gown story in the French task? It doesn't interest me but it vexes me. The miming was nice wasn't it? And white paint does wonders to detract from Rachel's conehead. We haven't mentioned her but Sarah the Australian has to go. All the sub-Neighbours petulant outbursts - "Oiiiiiiii don't belieeeeve theeeesss" - are bad enough, and then there's her weird, kitteny flirting with all the men... Hmmm. Not right. Although Darnell ain't complaining.

Sara (has to go - what a wingebag) but good idea to put pillow on the bike seat to pad her fandango.
I loved seeing the unfit ones in such pain, esp when Bx3 threw water over her own face dramatically like a marathon runner, and said it was worst that childbirth. She should be glad her arse fitted the bikeseat.
Sexy Word of the day: nephelococcygia - thats what they were doing last night.
Didnt our wee darnell look nice in his uniform. He could be in the next Pink Panther Film. Merci !
Totally agree the miming was cute!

Belinda + bike: see that girl, watch that scene, digging the Drama Queen.

Well, we only saw a nano second of the mime, because Rachel can't get more than 30 seconds of airtime, in every episode. Apparently. Belinda3, off the bike, was even funnier than Belinda3 on the bike. She has to go on Friday. As Hannah Montanna says, 'don't let the door hit ya, where the God Lord split ya'

Oh, Belinda is hysterical (well, not if you're one of her fellow housemates, admittedly); she can't go, surely. I laughed like a drain when she threw the water over her face and, as Doris Day has already pointed out, it was indeed a miracle her arse fitted the bike seat. Belinda reminds me of a Weeble (sp?); I suspect she's as tall as she is wide.
I can't bear Rex although, that said, he did endear himself to me slightly when he admitted he's arrogant. There's not much animation going on in his face; I wonder if he's been visiting the same Botox specialist as Lisa.
Rock on Bx3: I want to see what BB do to her next.

There are things which Rex does and says which are pretty arrogant - however, I like his habit of cutting straight to the chase, and not crawling around and trying to be 'nice'. A huge amount of what passes for modern discourse is lightweight fanny stroking. People can't be told things as they really are - for fear of 'offending'. There are far worse things in life than offence. It's just part of life - it happens. Grow up and move on. Rex seems to recognise this. He hasn't played the 'I'm offended' card on any occasion.
There is one particular sound in the Australian (and NZ I believe) accent which drives me crazy with aversion. Sara is a well established practitioner of the 'oy' sound. To illustrate - the word 'no' can by Australians be pronounced 'noy'.
It causes my teeth to turn to ice when I hear it.
A similar sound exists in the Northern Irish accent - but there 'noy' would be the pronunciation of the word 'now' - and has a certain charm.
Sara's flirting is horrid. A kind of patronising of those she considers to be fortunate enough to have been granted her attention. I occasionally see young women walking toward me on the street - assuming that all eyes are on them. It's a small and rather pathetic triumph for me - but I love to cut them out of my gaze utterly. 'No - you are not irresistible - no - not all men find you entrancing.' I have no doubt that my response isn't noticed - but I notice it.

Magento, I always thought you were a woman.

OhOh! My posting to stop robots letters were rem. Who was on the radio at the same time? Yes, only bloody REM! Tell Lisa quickly, I think the universe was sending me a message.

Daphne, I am SO GLAD you mentioned that about the robot letters we have to copy before posting here. For weeks I am SURE they have been sending me messages but I hesitated to mention it in case you all thought I was a crazy old hag. One time, the six letters spelt out the six letters of my surname (not in the right order). Another time, the nickname of one of my ex husbands, the worst one. Then there was the rude four letter word (think French Connection) plus two numbers - a six and a nine. Now, I'm no prude and if some bashful but gerontophilliac nerd in the IT dept. of The Times is trying to send me a message ... sonny, ODSFOF.

It's the Universe, Gabrielle. It's calling us.

Bugger, I hadn't realised what treasures and insults I may have inadvertedly missed. Note to self - Take Note

Daphne - thankyou for your lovely compliment. I was very close to my late Mother.

1. I knew Magneto was male. I imagine a rather handsome patrician gentleman a la Ian McKellen, so no wonder you get looks in the street.
2. Well done for avoiding offending our Northern Irish friends on the blog, Maggers, although I agree that "no" in Aussie is annoying, but "now" in NI is cute.
3. Magneto's real name is Chris!!! Busted. (am always hoping Daphne and Doris will make the same faux pas)
4. The universe speaks to me through the automated robot-fooler too. Just can't think of any examples. Was impressed by Daphne's REM experience, though (maybe the universe thought perhaps Daphne was wondering who was on the radio).
