First word on casting for Spider-man 4: It's you
Although as yet no director or star has signed for the fourth episode in Marvel's wildly successful Spider-man franchise, [EDIT - That's no longer true] one cast member will be decided on September 5th.
That's the closing date for an eBay auction in which the winning bidder gets to take part in the movie as an extra, and will go on to attend the premiere with whoever-it-is that actually stars in the finished movie.
Bidding currently stands at $5,000. The proceeds of the auction will be donated by Sony to Stand up to Cancer, a US-based charity that has already garnered huge support from celebrities, from a simple piece to camera from Daily Show anchor Jon Stewart on their website to a star-studded gala concert featuring Mariah Carey, Beyonce Kowles, Sheryl Crow, a host of other female singers whose fame is limited to the left-hand side of the map and our own Leona Lewis, winner of the 2006 season of X-Factor.
The movie's due in 2011. If, as is always possible in Hollywood, the film ends up not being completed the Sony have promised to replace the opportunity with other movie-related experiences of 'equal value'.
If it transpires that a Blockbuster Buzz reader is the winning bidder on this auction please get in touch, as we'd love to add an interview with the world's favourite loud and silly movie blog to the pot

So long as Spiderman 4 isn't as god awful as Spiderman 3, I don't care who they get as an extra.
