Moon: Exclusive clip

Moon is set in a near-future world where Helium-3 is mined from lunar rocks to provide clean energy for the technologies of tomorrow.

The thinking behind Duncan Jones’s stylish sci-fi meditation is more 2001 hard science fiction than Star Wars outright fantasy.

Although in reality no corporation would risk quite such minimal staffing on a mining station the technology of Moon is all quite plausible stuff. Helium-3 does exist, it’s probably more plentiful on the lunar surface than on Earth and it probably could be used to power fusion reactors.

It’ll probably be a long time before we feel sufficiently comfortable with artificial intelligences to let them cut our hair though. Nobody wants a logical hairdo.
