Mark Whitacre (the eponymous Informant) is a profoundly confusing character. I don’t mean that Matt Damon, who plays Whitacre, rehashes one of the all-American enigmas he has already made his speciality - in The Bourne franchise or The Talented Mr Ripley. I mean that the entire plot of the film is based on Whitacre doing something monumentally stupid, and we never really find out why.

This teaser reel from the new, American, version of Patrick McGoohan's bewitchingly loopy paranoid fantasy drama features Jim Cavaziel as Number 6 and Ian McKellen in Leo McKern's old role as our hero's infuriatingly unflappable jailer.
