Hatton enjoying his food again

Those concerned that Ricky Hatton gets to eat no more than some boiled veg as he gets down to weight ahead of his fights will be happy to know that he is eating well at the moment.

Kerry Kayes, who is Hatton's assistant trainer and nutritionist, has been so impressed by Hatton's shape that he has upped the amount the Brit is eating four times ahead of his December 8 bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. He will still not be having his traditional fried breakfast ahead of the bout - the last time he had that was for the Luis Collazo contest in Boston, which many people believed that Hatton lost.
"It would be frivolous to eat anything you want to eat," Hatton said.  "You can eat as much as you want to eat, but obviously the key is it's got to be good food. There's no point in, if your weight starts and you're going out eating barbecue, spare ribs and chips, I mean that's not going to do you any good.

"But my weight is well on target. I'm on the weight now, so I can increase me diet.  The diet's got better as the weight's gone down. I mean as the training has intensifies the diet's got better. I'll be in as good a shape and I'll probably have more energy because I won't have to deplete my body down to the 10st mark.  I've got to just get down to 147lb.  Everything is going perfect."
