Decision day for Froch

Carl Froch will decide next month where and when he will have his WBC final eliminator against Denis Inkin of Russia.

The WBC has ordered purse bids for the contest, which will be opened at their offices in Mexico City at noon on January 7.

With Inkin promoted by Klaus-Peter Kohl, the German who promotes Ruslan Chagaev, it is no done deal that the bout will be coming to Britain, or be promoted by Mick Hennessy, Froch's promoter. Kohl has a big television deal in Germany with ZDF, so can bid with confidence.

Joe Calzaghe is the WBC champion but he is unlikely to vacate that title any time soon, even if he moves up to light-heavyweight to face Bernard Hopkins in April.
