London notes
Enzo Calzaghe is a busy man these days with three world champions in his Cwmcarn gym, all of whom are in action in the next two months. On Wednesday, Enzo was at the Peacock gym in Canning Town, East London, to take Enzo Maccarinelli through his paces on the pads for the benefit of the media. But he couldn't hang about after, as he was straight back across London to Paddington for a train back to Wales for an evening session with his other two world champions. Gavin Rees is defending his WBA light-welterweight title against Andreas Kotelnik at Cardiff International Arena on March 22, while Enzo's son Joe is facing Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas on April 19.

While three world title belts will be on the line in Saturday's main event, it would be wrong to say that it was for the undisputed world cruiserweight title. Steve Cunningham, from Philadelphia, holds the IBF title and he feels that Haye, the WBC and WBA champion, has been showing him a deal of disrespect, after Haye was quoted as saying "Nobody knows who he is. Who has he beaten?"
"Who have I fought? Who has he fought?" Cunningham told fightnews.com. "He knocked out [Jean-Marc]Mormeck, who shouldn't have had the title in the first place. [O'Neil] Bell won the second fight [in Paris] despite Mormeck being saved by short rounds. Other then that, the only name he ever fought was Carl Thompson and by the way David, I just want to remind you that you got knocked out in that fight. I am sure I am better known in Europe then you are."
"You are trying to run from me just like the other unified champ ran....just some advice for you David. Going up to heavyweight will be putting your career on the line, because your already exposed glass jaw will be broken. And that's if you get by Enzo on Saturday."

The Walsh brothers - Liam, Michael and Ryan - from Cromer, Norfolk, are all in action on Saturday's nights undercard after they all made spectacular debuts at ExCeL on Amir Khan's last undercard, last month. Liam and Ryan, who are both featherweights, face Steve Gethin and Robin Deakin respectively. Gethin is best remembered for being stopped in three rounds by Khan in Glasgow in 2005, in Khan's third professional bout. Deakin put Vinny Mitchell, Kevin's younger brother, on the canvas before losing on points at York Hall in January. Gethin actually beat Deakin on points less than a fortnight ago.
Meanwhile, Michael, who is a super-flyweight, is facing Khvicha Papiashvili, who I don't know anything about, other than that he comes from Tblisi, Georgia, and boxrec says he has a record of one win and one draw in two bouts.

There will be seven special guests in the crowd for the big fight, the seven British boxers who have so far qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing. Frankie Gavin, Joe Murray, Bradley Saunders and Tony Jeffries qualified at last year's world championships, while James DeGale, Billy Joe Saunders and Khalid Yafai all earned their place at the qualifying event in Pescara, Italy, last weekend.
