Woods and Tarver make weight
Clinton Woods and Antonio Tarver both made weight at the first attempt for tomorrow's IBF light-heavyeweight title bout here in Tampa, Florida. At the weigh-in, at the ballroom of the Westin Harbour Island Hotel, at 5pm local time, Woods, the champion, scaled on the 12st 7lb limit, while Tarver weighed 12st 5 3/4lb.
About 100 British fans made their presence felt at the weigh-in, noisily cheering Woods and booing Tarver. Dennis Hobson, Woods's promoter, is expecting a sizeable British turnout, of both fans who have crossed the Atlantic for the bout and from the large Florida population of expats.
In the co-feature, Chad Dawson, the WBC light-heavyweight champion, scaled 12st 5 1/2lb, Glen Johnson 12st 4 1/2lb.
Danny Williams weighed in at 18st 6 3/4lb for his six-round contest against Marcus McGee of the United States. McGee, 36, who has the nickname Migraine, weighed 16st 9lb.
