One of my earliest boxing memories is at the Albert Hall with Jimmy Flint standing over a pole-axed opponent, I can't remember who, having hit him with the biggest punch I have ever seen. Flint was Southern Area featherweight champion in an era when being a Southern Area champion could see you as a regular on Grandstand.
One of the Terry Lawless team, his attempts at winning a British title were thwarted by Pat Cowdell and he also boxed on the night of the "Tijuana Tumblers", the notorious night at the Albert Hall when three supposedly decent Mexican imports were dispatched in a combined total of seven rounds. Those were days when the record of an import was a complete mystery and being photographed with a fur coat could in anyway be seen as cool.
Last week, at Wilton's Music Hall, just off Cable Street, in the East End, Flint took to
the stage with a one-man show entitled Wapping Assassin, his old
nickname.

But he couldn't hang about after, as he was straight back across London to Paddington for a train back to Wales for an evening session with his other two world champions. Gavin Rees is defending his WBA light-welterweight title against Andreas Kotelnik at Cardiff International Arena on March 22, while Enzo's son Joe is facing Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas on April 19.

Harrison admitted charges of breach of the peace and resisting arrest, but was found not guilty of a potentially more damaging charge of assaulting a police officer.
