So, let's see. He had a baby with someone else's wife, fast-tracked his nanny's visa, lied about it, was forced to resign from the Cabinet, rejoined the Cabinet when still in no fit state to do so, was forced to resign again, left the prison system on the verge of breakdown and the immigration system unfit for purpose.
But what does David Blunkett regard as the "biggest single mistake of my life in frontline politics" ?

I've read the article and cannot find any sympathy for the man. He not only brought everything on himself but was party to the smears of Tory sleeze against Major's government (not unjustified). It amazes me that he has reintroduced his story again rather than slunk away and hidden himself. No chance he will resign his seat - that would take integrity.
