To be fair, the ad was a radio ad:

In the UK the educated electorate are influenced in their voting by similar tactics!!!

That is hysterical. I'm proud to be an American today.

This is far from being the worst political ad of all time. Granted, it says almost nothing, but as far as I can see, it tells the truth. I've seen far worse ads that distort, play on fear, and tell outright lies. The damnable thing is that too often they work.

She's got my vote, that's for sure.

In many elections in the US, the themes "Let's take our Country back" or "Let's take our State back" are often sounded. I have yet to hear "from what" or "to what" we are to take the country or the state back.
I was taken aback to read that former Senator Tom Daschle of South Dakota (wherever that is) announced that he would not run for President (whatever that is) and the press actually carried the story.
On the other hand, it is disappointing not to be able to vote for a really light rail.
One can just imagine the campaign theme "I'm not running. Vote for me. Tom Daschle! The NEXT don't wannabe President of the USA."
Mercy!

The worst? Hardly. Try Richard Nixon's 1948 Campaign Jingle (and I WISH I were just making this up, but NO, it's real):
Vote for Nixon,
on Election Day
Vote for Nixon,
and you'll keep your take home pay.
He's got the heart and the strength and youth!
He's never been beat 'cause he tells the truth!
So,
Vote for Nixon,
Vote for Nixon,
Vote for Nixon on Election Day.
Dick! Dick! We Want Dick!
Vote for Nixon on Election Day!
