Although Brown may be perceived as clever, he is also perceived as untrustworthy, especially regarding Iraq; he did NOT stand up to Blair, although he did not agree with the war. He did NOT consider the right thing to do. He only 'came on board' at the last minute because he thought Blair would sack him and that would have put an end to his ambitions to be PM. Only Robin Cook had the moral courage to resign. When there are difficulties, Brown runs away. He is a smoke and mirrors man on the public finances also and when the truth comes out about his MIShandling of the economy he will not have a hope!
