Ted Nugent Medal entry - Rock the Casbah
The search for centre-right artists songs goes on. Thank you to Dave who has nominated Rock the Casbah.
It's a fantastic response to the ban on rock music by the Ayatollah Khomeni.
I rather like the idea of suborning The Clash. I am not sure what Joe Strummer would have thought about being included in my centre-right list. But who cares.
The video is a bit strange, but the song is fantastic.

Daniel,
I, Will T Power a.k.a The Orator am the only center-right rocker that I know of. I've been doing it under your nose in London for years. You need not have waited for the Ayatolla to ban it.
My favourite of my own compositions is the country-rock number and diatribe against the 60's generation, "Stinking Hippies", though "Give War a Chance" is a close second, and there's plenty more shocking and awesome stuff where that came from.
Visit www.myspace.com/theoratorrocks for downloads or my site www.theoratorrocks.com for more info.
I expect to see at least one of these on your list.

Daniel,
How about the late lamented boy band 'Busted'. These chaps allegedly espoused Conservative principles.
As for a 'Busted' song that actually displays centre-right tendencies, the nearest thing I can come up with was their hit 'Year 3000'. As you will see, the lyrics in the chorus show an apparent casual dismissal of the effects of climate change, an attitude however that might not make them popular in the eyes of the new Cameron Conservative party:
"I've been to the year three thousand
Not much has changed but they lived under water,
And your great great great grand daughter,
Is pretty fine (is pretty fine)"
