What does Iran hope to achieve?

What are the Iranians up to? Ian Bremner in the National Interest gives a very clear insight into what Tehran means to achieve with its kidnapping of the British sailors and marines.

Will it lead to military conflict? Bremner says this:

Britain and the United States will now step up their military presence along the edge of Iran’s territorial waters, with more frequent and larger-scale patrols. That will heighten the risk of military miscues but reduce the likelihood of any surprise Iranian naval presence.

and this:

I still see Israeli security concerns as the most significant driver of likely military action. A series of Israeli war drills last week, including simulated missile attacks on Israeli urban centres and on the main Tel Aviv power station, are particularly noteworthy.

If there existed any evident proof of what Britain is claming i.e. if the captured british soldiers really did not entered iranian waters, Britain would have had presented that proof officially by now. The truth is a powerfull tool sometimes...

Frankly I don't care if my comment is moderated because I'm going to write this message anyway for the hope of peace.

This "conflict" with Iran was started by Jews and Zionist Americans. It is an attempt to scuttle Islamic powers into warring factions, hence making Israel the sole universal power in the Middle East. This premise explains the wars with Afghanistan, Iraq and Lebanon.

Many people around the world believe this.

Take care.

I pray for peace.

Anyone watching Netanyahu doing the rounds on American TV knows the second Bremner observation is more significant. Drawing countless parallels between Iran and the world's treatment of it, and events leading up to WWII, he bangs a loud drum for a defensive strike at Iran's nuclear facilities, much like Israel carried out at Osirak in Iraq in 1981. IT's not a call that would play here, but in the US, that's another matter. As for Anonymous' assertion that the Jews are to blame for everything - well I'd remain anonymous if I made a comment of such fatuousness.
