The silly season is inaptly named. If only the media was full of silly stories it would at least be entertaining. No, the problem is banal stories whose appearance is simply baffling
So let's have an August competition.

Probably not available on line as it dates back a few years, but my favourite headline of all time, from the Gallowasy News, was "Man almost knocked off bar stool in fight"
