Where is President Bartlett?

Presidents

Ladies and Gentlemen, let me present the Presidents of the United States.

Douglas, Pullman, Ford, Freeman, Kline, Sellers...

Not the roster you're used to, perhaps, but the one offered up by Yahoo Movies in this fantastic list of screen presidents.

But who's missing? John Travolta in Primary Colours? Martin Sheen in the West Wing?

All suggestions welcome.

If sheen is permitted in a movie president list, then why not Dennis Haysbert as President Palmer in 24

Henry Fonda in "Fail Safe", who let his wife and family die in a nuclear attack. We need more people like that.

Although it goes slightly beyond films (but then so doesn't Bartlett, technically?), here's a great list of fictional presidents.

And here's its British equivalent.

Bruce Greenwood was pretty good as JFK in Thirteen Days.

Tim Robbins in Austin Powers... a laughable idea?

I think John Travolta was playing a candidate for President in Primary Colours. The film stopped short of the election

All debate is however irrelevant. We have been comprehensively out-googled by Nick Anstead.

My vote's with Fonda - Fail Safe is a truly great movie and he played the part perfectly. His exchanges with Walter Matthau's Prof Groeteschele are mesmerising.

Does Patrick Swayze in Point Break count?

Actually, Richard Dreyfuss played the Fonda role in George Clooney's 2000 "as live" remake of Fail Safe, too.

Morgan Freeman, in "Deep Impact" ...
