Curb your political enthusiasm

Larry_david_2

A few weeks ago, I started to feel sorry for her. Oh Christ, let her win already...Who cares...It's not worth it. There's not that much difference between them. She can have it. Anything to avoid watching her descend into madness. So I switched. I started rooting for her. It wasn't that hard. Compromise comes easy to me. I was on board.

Only one person could blog like that. It's Larry David on Hillary.

Now, David isn't the most assiduous blogger. He has posted four times in three years. But he makes up for it in quality.

His earlier note from a liberal insomniac is a work of comic brilliance.

He has been lured back to his PC by Hillary's 3am ad. He doesn't like Hillary much:

There have been times in this campaign when she seemed so unhinged that I worried she'd actually kill herself if she lost. Every day, she reminds me more and more of Adele H., who also had an obsession that drove her insane.

And he doesn't want her on the phone:

I watched, transfixed, as she took the 3 a.m. call...and I was afraid...very afraid. Suddenly, I realized the last thing this country needs is that woman anywhere near a phone. I don't care if it's 3 a.m. or 10 p.m. or any other time. I don't want her talking to Putin, I don't want her talking to Kim Jong II, I don't want her talking to my nephew.

Larry David clearly has the 'real enemies' version of clinical paranoia. I could not stop laughing.

Suggestions that MY OPPONENT TORTURES CATS are completely unfounded. The idea that a supposedly decent person, HE TIES THEM UP, BURIES THEM TO THEIR NECKS IN THE GROUND AND THEN RUNS THEM OVER WITH LAWNMOWERS, ALL THE WHILE GIGGLING AND LAUGHING, are quite baffling to me, honestly.
That's why I take this opportunity to offer my paw, er hand, in friendship, so that we can go forward, together, in a spirit of love and inter species comradeship. --- to keep things perfectly clear, to draw a line under them and move on together (With me first)

It's puerile rhetoric, as reiterated and reiterated and reiterated etc., by the above gentleman, that really manages to turn off me and thousands of others.
Then, on the other hand, maybe not!

Larry David is funny and even with his lefty vision he sees how hillary is a disaster for this country. Wonder if he applies the same logic to Barak (the empty suit) Obama?

Posted by: Vaquero | 8 Mar 2008 17:44:37

That was funny and entertaining. Davd talking the talk. Only a handful of us who's got the real confidence can talk like that. He doesn't give a toss what Billary supporters have to say about his statements

Posted by: August | 9 Mar 2008 08:43:05

So where's the article? All I found was some links to a weird American's blogs.

Posted by: Rosie | 9 Mar 2008 11:06:36

Hilarious (no pun intended)! I have, at moments, felt kind of sorry for her, too. Rest assured, however, it goes away and reason returns.

Posted by: Michelle | 9 Mar 2008 22:02:36

What should happen with the 3am is that Hillary picks up the phone, listens for a moment, replies "hold on", and shouts "Bill it's for you!"

Posted by: Doug | 9 Mar 2008 22:57:01

Didn't I read this on the Huffington Post last week? Money for old rope then Daniel?

Posted by: Hobbler | 9 Mar 2008 23:49:04

Hillary is beyond bizarre. She is so pathetic in her psychopathic pursuit of power. I feel so sorry for her and her pathetic feminist throwback supporters. These people having power has made us all afraid to say what we think. Now they want to control health care. Imagine being afraid to eat a hamburger because Hillary's health care nazi's will deny you coverage. God help you if you ever smoked.

Read the note from a liberal insomniac and obviously a have different definition of comic brilliance than Mr F. Came across to me as an overweening piece of leftist drivel. Particularly galling is David's attempt to portray the left as being the men of science since the left, especially but not entirely through environmentalism, have dome more to damage scientific argument that any creationist.

We in the States love Larry David too, even if he only blogs once per year.

Posted by: A Running Commentary | 10 Mar 2008 01:22:25

Vote for Hillary because shes the best at this humanistic appeal sort of game if you look at her policies straight on and see theres no one else there in this regard.

Posted by: Michael Chessman | 10 Mar 2008 02:31:13

Just a little side note, why must people of other faiths denegrate the name of Christ by using it in a cavalier or angry manner? Just wondering.

Posted by: Peter | 10 Mar 2008 03:02:21

Hillary Clinton has based a good part of her campaign on her experience. But have you seen this ad showing her authorizing the Iraq War? It’s pretty powerful stuff:

Larry David is brilliant. He can say more in a few paragraphs than most can say in an entire novel. Keep it up Larry!

Posted by: Monna N | 10 Mar 2008 03:51:06

Hoo-Ray for Larry!
Unhinged, indeed..perfect word.

Posted by: Richard Ray Harris | 10 Mar 2008 04:42:43

Larry David for President!

To quote some American: "Whoo!".

Posted by: MM | 10 Mar 2008 04:51:31

I have always loved Larry David, and now I not only respect is comedic genius but his political genius as well.

Posted by: gk | 10 Mar 2008 04:53:14

Larry David should trade jokes about Hillary with Rush Limbaugh.

Posted by: George | 10 Mar 2008 05:06:04

Larry doe not want to say he just can't vote for a Black man, but that is really at the heart of his angst.

Posted by: Brigadierster | 10 Mar 2008 05:49:32

Another liberal Hollywood actor for Democrats. Can we get the opinions of yet another? Please do tell.

Posted by: Anon | 10 Mar 2008 06:40:15

Anyone that knows Larry knows that he's, well...cheap.
He makes his living writing comedy, and so that should explain why he seldom blogs.
In his eyes, when he blogs, he's losing money!

Posted by: Josephb | 10 Mar 2008 11:22:45

Great ...but for a real kick read Andrew Sullivan's Hillary column this morning.

Posted by: MIke | 10 Mar 2008 11:35:24

Am I alone in finding Mr Finkelstein's expletive use of the title "Christ" offensive? Perhaps next time he wishes to stoop to that sort of level, he could use the name of the prophet of Islam - and discover how Salman Rushdie must feel. The "uneducated masses" are one thing (although ignorance is not, to me, a valid excuse) but I expect a higher standard from those who may be expected to have at least obtained their 'O' Level in the English language, and discovered that it is awash with non-offensive adjectives, nouns, and even expletives!!

Posted by: Truthseeker | 10 Mar 2008 13:39:19

Larry David is not only funny but "Truthful"! Hilary would be a disaster for this country... We've had enough disasters. How many angles can she possibly work?

No one wants a woman president more than myself, but not Hilary. There is too much baggage attached.

Posted by: Roxanna | 10 Mar 2008 14:33:09

pretty good,pretty,pretty GOOO!

Posted by: charles landskroner | 10 Mar 2008 16:16:27

Finally, even the hard left gets it!

In a society whose trademark is excess, every so often and all too rarely, someone noteworthy stands up and says, "Enough!"

Hats off to Mr. David. This is one of his more lucid moments.

I suppose it's too much to hope he will soon learn to appreciate the conservative vision... nah! Never happen.

Posted by: David | 10 Mar 2008 16:44:27

Funny how he waited until after his old lady gave him the shoe to say such things...

Posted by: gnewyawk | 10 Mar 2008 20:06:30

Oh, Larry. You are so right. We are all being nagged to death by this psychotic megalomaniac and it's not even April yet. I agree! Give it to her. I can't take it anymore.

Posted by: Kevin | 10 Mar 2008 20:39:34

Hilary/Billary are a duo--not dynamic, but still a duo! However, the more of Hilary I see, the more convinced I am that she needs to change her hormone therapy. And I am very serious. One thing we definitely do not need is a menopausal president that is still trying to determine which hormone therapy works for her. I don't feel sorry for her, but those abrupt mood swings are sometimes amusing and very animated!!!

Brigadierster posted the following:
"Larry doe not want to say he just
can't vote for a Black man, but that
is really at the heart of his angst."
My question: how do you know?
