£2.7 billion? Well that ends one Labour campaign tactic
So suddenly we can find £2.7 billion of extra borrowing without any trouble can we?
This is surely the end of any possibility that Labour can run a black hole campaign against the Tories in the next election. They've just shown they don't mind borrowing almost £3 billion for entirely political reasons.
Well, didn't you know? Government always more spare change lying around than it needs -- just in case.
That's why I have been calling on governments everywhere to start getting used to working with less -- less is more, indeed.
Taxes must come down drastically, forcing the government to cope with reduced tax revenues.
You want to bet that public services (particularly the really essential ones) will not suffer?
As I said, less is more, and where there is a will, there is a way.

What are you suggesting? That the Tory defence against black hole accusations should be that Labour borrowed so we can borrow too? Remarkable.
