I enjoyed "it came to pass..."
It supports my basic contention that Obama has a bit of a Messiah complex.
That being said, I'm still confused as to whether he is running for POTUS or president of the EU.

Mr. Baker's article on Barack Obama was outstanding. We are blessed to have him in the USA. The last person to reflect this carisma was John F.Kennedy

This was too close to sacrilege for me to enjoy the irony. I hope the Barry Obama fans realize that he's not the liberal's messiah and either stay at home or vote McCain.
Barry Obama's greatest flaw is that he is full of himself. He has convinced himself that he is not like ordinary people. He is superior to all others. He is a "man of destiny" who doesn't realize that he is not destiny's child. He's Ann Dunham's child. And we don't even have verification that he was born in the United States of America (other than a fraudulent Hawaiian birth certificate).

The media has been sickening in their obvious favoritism for Obama. Who do they think they are? They are supposed to be fair, honest and truthful. They are trying to lead us around by the nose. The professionalism is long gone.
Most of the media have lost my respect. The only station from which I can get both sides is Fox.
I am not voting for Obama with all of his very questionable associations. He offers change I don't believe in. In fact, I am very leery of his change.

I hear the media say he has a Messiah complex but I do not get that impression from him. There's not much he can do about it anyway.

What a stupid piece. The message, more than subtly racist & full of prejudice & hatred may be funny to some but I am certain thought otherwise to many people. We have enough problems in this world to have the thought of this commentary not that there is some salvation but that the day of reckoning has already come.... This was supposed to be amusing?

What a load of rubbish. Here is a country America in 9.5 Trillion in debt. The economy is in peices, the housing market is dead along with the American dream. The country is burning down in forest fires, flooding in other parts. There is Global Warming. And instead of disscussing these issues, people are speaking about the Serge which would not have worked if the Madi Army did not have a cease fire for six months. Deal with the real issues, and stop being so negative.

So sad the men from the press can't retire when they think they're bigger than the stories they inaccurately present.
I'm sure the lot of us are really fed up with hype hidden behind sarcasm.
The press were so weak when Bush initially came to power: Outsmarted when given spin by Blair: Remain unquestioning when Cameron provides fairy tale solutions; and ignorant when Brown has kept his head whilst these clowns have lost theirs.
Incidentally, don't insult Christians by this type of apocalyptic reporting - muck rake using your own inverted morality.

This really tells it as it is...It makes fun of the so called news media that thinks people are too stupid to see them for what they are. They are so biased toward Obama and falling all over themselves, that it's so refreshing and funny to watch them being made out to be the fools they are !

A ridiculous piece! Obama is arrogant and full of himself. The "change" he talks about is effusive -- just as this piece is a blow-hard bunch of hot air! When you can't talk issues or experience, you talk image; which the media accommodates him. This media distortion is absolutely disgusting. Obama is without a charism which is a sign of humble grace in the service of God. How could Obama have a charism when he's so arrogant? Smoke and mirrors -- and people are getting duped!

Having read the article and heard the video, I am wishing that I could be amazed. As those that have written their interpratation of all the messages about "end times" written of in the Holy Bible, there is agreement that there must be a charismatic world leader that comes upon the scene in order for the establishment of a "one world government" before we can see the presentation of a "one World Religious Leader" (commonly referred to as the Antichrist). I am not saying that this is he, but it shows how easily the world population can be swayed. As citizens of the United States, we must remember that it has been our independence and firm standing on the principles of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, as well as the Holy Bible, that has led us this far. We owe it to our forefathers as well as our children to maintain this independence. There is more that could be said, but I will say this - I don't see any candidate for president that meets the basic proncipled standards that the leaders of previous generations have raised.

A wonderful satirical piece that will be received according to individuals bent. Obama will probably think it very funny and Hilary upset that Bill has international recognition as a lecher. There are truths, half truths, lies and wishes all rolled in the article. I enjoyed reading the comments as much as the article. Does the Emperor have clothes on?

Seriously? Does anyone really think Fox News is "Fair and Balanced?" I watch Fox for a laugh or two, in fact their coverage is terribly one-sided as any literate/educated individual can see. Think about the stories that absolutely FALSE stories they ran as primary news: Obama attended a Muslim school?, Saddam was involved in 9/11 attacks?, Paul Begala was joining the Hillary campaign? and the video game Mass Effect contains full nudity and sex?, just to name a few. All of these stories are completely and unmistakably FALSE... The list could go on for days and it is very alarming to know that many viewers never find that these stories are FALSE because Fox never apologizes despite their blatant erroneous primary news stories. Furthermore I do not support Obama, yet I can not support the obvious lies and falsehoods given to viewers of Fox News either. Any disagreements?

Mr. Obama does not speak as a religious fanatic or pronounce from the bible..Mr Bush never got this kind of attack...Mr.Obama is clear in promoting dialogue and the message is clearly, despite any of his personal religious beliefs( if they are even that strong) does not act as a Messiah to me, one who is an agnostic/atheist or whatever...America has a potential leader to lead them out of the "wildness" as opposed to the "wilderness", so why treat him as a religious icon, when he clearly has sound ideas that promote tolerance & understanding...It is unfair to reduce him to some pathological bible -thumping Messianic...
The world needs a change so let's not get cute....

The satire of this article/video is a powerful statement on how easily swayed people are when they aren't taught how to think, resulting in sheep in human skin.
The hope of America isn't lost, nor is Obama the 'hope of America'. In America today, people have never had better food, medicine and housing that has central heat and air, our autos are safe and efficient and people are routinely treated for, and survive, conditions which were fatal less than half a century ago. And for those of us who didn't purchase overpriced real estate so we could use the equity to finance vacations. This isn't a crisis, it's a consequence. There may be a health insurance coverage problem in America, but there is access to treatment. Ever go to an emergency room and notice that those waiting have cell phones and expensive running shoes? Something I haven't spent my money on. And the quality of care is the yard stick by which the world's medical care is measured. The best doctors and equipment is right here in the good ole' US of A. Don't tell me it's over. As citizens of the USA we can overcome anything before us, but it takes determination and strength of will, not whining and certainly not an ideology of victimhood. We aren't perfect but we are the best there is on the planet. In America, the glass of opportunity is more than half full.

Pretty interesting. But I must say to even associate this man to be near to Christ is pretty much blastimy. It will be a sad state if this man gets into office. If people really belive this man will make a difference they are sadly mistaken. He will destroy this nation even more than it has been. Our USA constitution says by the people for the people not by the congress for congress. We have allowed the goverment to do as they please because we have become a lazy nation, thinking politics will take care of all our woes, they will only take your money and that is all they want. This man is not for the USA. Just look at the church he went to, if anyone thinks he does not feel the same as that pastor feels about the US they are being fooled. Obama is a destroyer of all the US has fought for since its conception. Really want to know the truth try reading the orginal constitution of the US.

When I was in school and we were studying WWII, I remember many of my peers asking, in reference to the German citizenry, "How could so many people be swayed by charisma and emotional speeches?" followed by the statement, "Well,it certainly can't happen here (USA)". People believe what they choose to believe and what they want to believe and the fawning over Obama is a perfect example of liberalism at it's finest, "Don't think for yourself, allow the government to do it for you." Much like the old Greyhound Bus commercial, "leave the driving to us". If you don't think things can get worse, elect Obama, "equal misery for all" and misery means 'distress caused by poverty or pain'.

If Americans are asking so much questions about OBAMA, why didn't they ask as much questions about the halfwit they have in office now?. Had the News Media such as FOX NEWS which is about the worse News Channel on the PLANET ask a few more questions about BUSH the country would not be in the enormous mess it is in at present. People in EUROPE want to see the BACK of BUSH and if you don't know thats is why every one is excited about OBAMA who is intellegent, has the ability to think. Instead of running an election on RACE try one on FACTS.

I thought the British humor was funny. However, I believe you people who are actually watching and believing the propaganda need to get a clue. It time to pull your heads out, open your minds, and just watch the world and what is happening to it while under your ever so great George Bush. You can blame it on the new congress, however you all know it lies with the corruption and deceit that is being fed to us daily. C'mon folks wake up.
Posted by: Larry Forrest | 4 Aug 2008 20:36:48
Sorry, Larry Forrest, but I don't think you should be so arrogant to give others a wakeup call. I think people are finally starting to wakeup to the fact that the past five years or so, the same ones griping and complaining continuously about everything GWB does, EVEN the things they should like, are the same ones pushing Obama as the savior. Sorry, maybe people are finally seeing the light, and it isn't in your court.

I am not surprised at how many people think that Obama is wonderful. The selling of a president is such a media event. The overall media organizations that are around today are floating on the same boat as Obama. The origin of this country was founded upon individual rights and the government was there to support the individual. These folks in Obama's boat are persuaded that we live in a "Entitlement Society". Individuals are "Entitled" to this and that. Socialism at its best. Let the Obama group in power, and all of the creativeness that made this country great will be diminished. Even with John M. in power, this creativity will be diminished, just not as much. Look at the lack of inventiveness out the European countries.
Posted by: Harvey G. | 15 Aug 2008 00:23:17
Kudos to the Englishman. Never before has a candidate for president been so superficial, vapid and shallow, yet presented himself in the elite ivory tower of condescension. The man has no core, and when a decision presents itself, he trips over one, two and three until one finally plays right with the public or is a slight compromise with the opposition.
God help this country if he's elected.

The most interesting thing about this piece is how differently it was interpreted by each of us here on the board.
Is it Pro-Liberal or Pro-Conservative? Is it a warning against a wolf in sheep's clothing or is it a slap in the face to the supporters of the current Presidential administration. Is it sacrilegious because of its Christ comparisons or is it satirizing cultish devotion? Some perceived the video as a vehicle to cloud the true issues of the campaign, others viewed it as an inspirational and hopeful tribute to their candidate.
Which is it? I don't really know, but I love reading the multitude of responses, reflecting the myriad of perspectives and opinions from across this great big globe. Awesome!
And for what it's worth, I thought the video was funny but a little too long.
