Have you had 'The Talk' with your parents?

Sarah_silverman

Keeping it in the family seems to be the Obama campaign's new theme.

The hilarious Sarah Silverman had launched The Great Schlep - an attempt to get Jewish youngsters down to Florida to convince their sunshine-seeking grandparents to vote Obama. And now the candidate itself is encouraging young voters to have 'The Talk' with their families in the following email:

Are you sure if your parents are voting for Obama?

If not, you may be the only person who can convince them. If you haven’t already, it’s time for you to have “The Talk” with your parents and other family members

If things don't work out in November, the compiler of the 'Do's and Don'ts' list that accompanies the web page can fall back on a future career as an advice columnist. Whether you're flunking out of college, breaking that engagement or confronting that most fanatical of Ron Paul cheerleaders, your father, the Obama camp has some words of wisdom for you:

Don’t feel defensive. Stay calm, cool and collected.

Or alternatively, take Silverman's advice and resort to some good old-fashioned emotional blackmail.

Oh yes, I've had my talk. And we're all voting for McCain.

2012 will make no difference to John McCain or the rest of us, the game is up and the party has been over for years. Chickens are coming home to roost. The Americans who thought they were a superpower, only to discover they are no better than a BANANA Republic. Millions of homeless people, people who are sick with no healthcare cover. Parents who can't get their kids into a good school.

People using 1000 Barrel per second of oil world wide with no answers. The Ice Caps melting and American towns and Cities going up in either smoke, or floods. Creating Millions more homeless people.

Ever imagined HELL, we will live long enough to see it in 2012. People think those who want our votes is really interested in real people. Some of them is just too old to care about a future. It will get to the point even the RICH have no safe place to put their hordes of money, no Bank is safe. A Bank burnt down with your money is no different from being robbed. If these Rich people would be able to move from town to town caring their money would be dicing with death. When these elected officials can't protect themselves how will they protect you is the question.

Thankfully my mother is astute enough to see through Senator Obama's cheap artifice and chicanery. We'll be going with the slightly more palatable choice of McCain.

By the way, I think you meant "resort to," not "result to," unless this is a British turn of phrase I don't know about.
