What's your biggest hope for Obama?

Barack_obama_hope

What is your single biggest hope for Barack Obama?

Can you sum it up in a few words? I will give you eight (because that is how many I needed).

Precisely because I am a hawk, in fact essentially a neocon, I feel most strongly about American values, and about the need to demonstrate how much those values mean. So rather to my surprise I found myself with this as my biggest single hope for Obama:

End torture and the disaster of Guantanamo Bay

What's yours?

My biggest "hope" is to see the USA stand on the sidelines and watch when Europe comes begging for help as Putin seizes control of his neighbors and puts a stranglehold on your energy supply; when Iran finally gets nuclear weapons to blackmail Berlin, Paris,London and Madrid; when earthquakes, typhoons and tsunamis hit and we say, "Oh, too bad." You all love to hate the USA but no one ever refuses the BILLIONS we have provided in humanitarian aid, more than the rest of the world combined. No one complained about "US intervention in sovereign nations' affairs" when we left hundreds of thousands dead in Europe saving yourselves from each other. Now we'll have an administration who will be so "thoughtful" and "enlightened" that it would never dream of interfering again, lest it be seen as "American imperialism and arrogance." At least I "hope" so.

I think that in everything that exist in society will always change.South Africa was ruled by white people for more than 300 years and who ever taught that one day it will be ruled by a black person and Comrade Nelson Mandela was great in leading the country and thus believe that Barack Obama might do the same even though he took power in the most critical times America has ever experienced in decades.Expectations is what everybody has in every corner of the Globe and thus not everybody will be happy because of diffrent needs. In actual fact Obama does not owe anybody favours as he belongs to nobody except his obligation to serve country with all his might.

My greatest hope for President Elect Barack Obama is that the hatred towards him by his fellow Americans, will not detstroy his desire to see us live in PEACE and HARMONY worldwide, but instead give him a greater determination to achieve this goal!

Also I hope that he is able to restore this country to the Great Nation it was once reguarded as.

I hope that the American people remember that he ( Barack Obama) did not create the disturbing situations that we are experiencing! (ie. economic downward plunge, world unrest, housing foreclosures, banking closures, etc.) But maybe if given the chance and the time he and his cabinet may just be able to put us on the road to peace stability and posperity again.

My final hope is that we don't lose another Great American President through the fears and hatred of others,! (Abraham Lincoln, and John F. Kennedy)

May God watch over you President Elect Barack Obama! Make America Proud!!!
YES WE CAN!!!

Posted by: MARCIA LEE ADAMS | 6 Nov 2008 20:24:20

I hope he will succeed.

Posted by: Lynn Wiltshire | 6 Nov 2008 20:30:53

I think Obama can only veer off into one of two directions; he can stand for his people (American Citizens) or he can continue with the steady abuse and rape of our Economy and most importantly our Rights. Being as it's probably going to inevitably be the demise of the U.S. or what we once stood for I think first and foremost he should......
STOP PRINTING MONEY THROUGH THE FEDERAL RESERVE.

Posted by: Devin | 6 Nov 2008 20:36:15

Posted by: John | 6 Nov 2008 20:40:09

Posted by: -Ed. | 6 Nov 2008 20:43:37

To those of you who seem to want to believe that President Elect Barack Obama was elected by only the African American population... Have you been living in blinders for the past 2 years? Open your eyes please!!! He was elected by United States voters from All RACES. If you don't trust my words as being true... then look at the news, the internet, your newspapers, I don't see crowds of African Americans standing alone! I see a rainbow of people from ALL RACES.

The combined votes of united American voters elected him. So those of you who refuse to open your minds or quit trying to keep racial bias alive in America, I feel sorry for you!

The rest of us will all keep working together for the betterment of the United States of America.

We will stand UNITED to support our new President!!!
