A time for giving, a time for sharing, a time for digging a deep hole in the garden and burying your partner’s copy of “That’s what I call Christmas Music…Again”. There is, arguably, no worse musical genre than Christmas pop songs (actually, let’s have a bit of a survey on that - drop us a comment if you’re a person who actually enjoys Christmas pop). Which is why blogs deserve bravery-beyond-the-call-of-duty awards for parsing the Rocking Around the Christmas Trees, sorting the Little Drummer Boys from the Let It Snows, and identifying the most depressing Christmas Songs. Buzzfeed has a good list this year, but I think they’ve missed some crackers. From the brilliantly cynical to the smartlingly saccharine, here’s Comment Central’s pick of the 10 most depressing Christmas songs… 1) Christmas In Prison 2) Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer
3) Please Daddy (Don’t Get Drunk This Christmas)
4) If We Make It Through December
5) The Little Boy That Santa Claus Forgot
6) First Christmas
7) Last Christmas 8) Blue Christmas
9) Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis
