Web favourites this week
More on the dolpin in a second.
The blog: My Tiny Plot
If anything is likely to spark enthusiasm for digging, veg growing and rescuing small slimey creatures, it is this charming blog. If your garden is as neglected as mine, it might be time to show it some love.
The company: Green People
Very eco, very natural, you can’t go wrong with anything from here. I’ve been won over by the special Valentine’s organic shave kit - for men who like a proper wet shave.
The earn-a-halo site: Mission Fish
Still have unwanted Christmas presents lurking? Sell them on Mission Fish, Ebay’s charity site and raise money for Friends of the Earth. It’s up to you what percent of the final sale price you give.
The list: Grist’s Green Lists
15 Green Fashion Finds. 15 Green Movies. 15 Green Politicians. It's all here. Grist has gone list crazy.
The video (see above): Cheesiest Save the World Clip
Not that I don’t like fluffy seals and turtles, but really, I've noticed an unacceptable level of cutsiness in eco videos that circle the web. I don’t think they are helping.

what? you mean this video doesn't make you leap from your office chair and start looking into how you can save the world? god, you cynic. isn't that waht environmental tv programs are all about, make you go "aw" how sweet. and then treat the animals in the world better.

I am sorry you don't like cute videos! They do make me feel very guilty!! But then I am pregnant so it could be the hormones speaking. This is going to be baby number 3 and the first to be entirely eco friendly!! I will let you know how it goes. In the mean time I am busy dusting off old clothes and equipment ready for the baby. I have to admit your recommendation of freecycle has been invaluable. My boys get their toys and clothes off of freecycle. It is definitely the website to use if you want green children.

You and everyone else in girl green blog world, Hannah. My Tiny Plot's mistress (see here www.mytinyplot.co.uk) is pregnant, as is Kitchen Witch, who has written a post all about it here http://www.theecologist.co.uk/blog_comments.asp?blog_detail_id=229.
Congratulations!

Thank you. What a nice blog. I am doomed to a hospital birth after two sections. However I am hoping third time lucky on a natural birth!!
Being pregnant and being green has it's challenges, as does being a family. However it is getting easier every year as everyone seems to be waking up to what we are doing to this planet. It is thanks to journalists like you that this is happening. You have been a really good resource in the last year, possibly longer I can't remember how long I have been reading your blog and article. Keep up the good work.

Eugh. that really is slightly OTT on the cuteness front. On that topic, Getty Images have just released a report advising advertisers to steer away from generic climate change images - of which this movie is a pretty good catalogue! Their report: http://corporate.gettyimages.com/marketing/MapReport/usa/index.html
