Say No to Plastic Bags, the sung version

Plastic_bag_kids_3Plenty of people have spoken out against plastic bags, but few have sung about it. Until now. Here the children at Godwin Primary School, in East London, make their point, musically, inspired by We Are What We Do's Change the World for a Fiver book.

To celebrate Marks & Spencers new policy of charging for plastic bags, they have been asked to perform in an M&S store. Click here to listen.

Brilliant! It brought a tear to my eye. The only line (I think) they missed was something like "Don't forget to bring the cloth bag with you, or we're going to have to bill you".

Great to see new technology in this blog.

In MArks and Spencer's yesterday, interesting to see people coping with plasic bag charge. I saw one chap decide to carry his three or four items - perfectly possible.
Another cram his dinner in his suitcase.

It is good to see M&S promoting this song. An idea for a follow-up is "ZWP for me", a song about superstores giving up packaging waste. I wont hold my breath.

Regards,

John.

Maybe next these children can turn their talents to singing about the pollution from mums driving 4x4s during rush hour.
