Religious swimwear
Back in January Mecca Laa Laa made waves by becoming the first Australian lifeguard to wear a Burkini.
But it's not just Muslims who are creating a market for cover-all beach attire. Wholesome wear has a range of elbow to knee garments for the more modest Christian teen. Splash Gear USA has an albumn of the different styles available and here are some sites catering for "today's Muslim female", including a Shari'a compliant Judo suit coming soon!

Ghastly!
The whole idea of going to the beach is to relax & feel the sun on your body,to feel free.
I have also seen the full shell suit Muslim women are supposed to wear for Swimming, shown here some weeks ago, it is the ugliest garment ever, it's more akin to an astronauts suit.
It is preposterous to vilify a womans body in such a way, God made her the way she is folks, he didn't smother Eve in clothing !!
Why make her feel guilty or ashamed of the body she was given, ? men don't cover themselves so.
Men need to grow up & stop thinking a womans body is just for their pleasure ! The whole business of covered women is a man made rule. A jealous & possessive mans rule.
Those who were a bit self concious always covered more , but that is a matter of CHOICE for them, which is very different to a husband or religion insisting on it.

Awesome! about time some companies stepped up to help reverse the trends in swimwear!

I think it's time we describe the culture that views women's bodies as objects of uncontrollable male lust such that they have to be covered up as a culture of obscenity. It is an obscene view of the human body, and of the relationship between the sexes.

just to correct some misconceptions out there (or at least to fill in some gaps of knowledge):
in islam, when a girl or boy reaches puberty, they are both required to cover their sexuality in front of unrelated members of the opposite sex.
so, BOTH men and women are supposed to cover their bodies in public. it is absolutely NOT TRUE that a muslim man can wear whatever he wishes--muslims never claimed that, so this false claim must be a projection from non-muslims. muslim men must at all times in public cover between the navel to the knee--even in front of other men. also, the majority of muslim men cover their entire bodies--just like muslim women--from the head to the feet. you can see examples of muslim men's dress from all over the world by doing an internet search. muslim men are certainly NOT allowed to wear "speedos" or even running shorts--those are just scandalously too short.
also, most muslim women around the world DO INDEED choose to cover themselves. it's a misperception that the majority of muslim women are forced to cover up. muslim women who choose to cover their bodies out of a respectful sense of modesty would NEVER be caught wearing western style bathing suits in public--muslim women do not like those types of outfits.
actually, this commandment to dress our bodies out of modesty IS INDEED a divine command, at least in islam. it is commanded directly by God, it is not a so-called "man-made law", at least not in islam.
perhaps non-muslims should learn more about islam and muslims before jumping to incorrect conclusions and creating even more tension among people. also, please do not project your own histories or experiences onto muslims b/c they are not the same.
also, turns out some of these muslim swimwear companies have jewish and christian customers, as well as customers who want to cover their bodies for non-religious reasons (ie, health-related reasons).
thank God these companies exist to cater to the women in our society who have been neglected by mainstream manufacturers. these companies offer inclusiveness and comfort, peace of mind. why should everyone be FORCED to wear western-style bathing suits? that certainly is not freedom of choice, and it's pretty narrow-minded to think that only religious women need/desire these outfits
PEACE!
