Muslim letter - Pope responds
After a long wait, the Muslim leaders who wrote the 'letter of peace" get a response from Pope Benedict. Courteous and cautious, he says that it is important not to ignore or downplay the difference between Christians and Muslims. But “We can and therefore should look to what unites us, namely, belief in the one God, the provident Creator and universal Judge....There is plenty of scope for acting together in the service of fundamental moral values". Sudanese judiciary, please copy.

The Italian Jesuit magazine Civilita Cattolica sends out a confused statement when it talks about "fundamental convergence between Christians and Muslims" Our fundamental belief and faith as Christians is that Jesus Christ as the Son of God allowed himself to be sacrificed for the sin of mankind and that all who believe in this can participate in this wonderful and gracious salvation. It is anathema and indeed the greatest sin a Muslim can commit to say that God has a Son. Therefore the two beliefs can never converge!!
