Is Obama the Antichrist or just a dress rehearsal?
Really. Just because their own candidate is a teeny bit dull, that's no reason for US republicans to start linking poor old Obama to the feared coming of the Antichrist. But Hal Lindsey, a leading figure in U.S. apocalyptic Christian circles,has written on WorldNetDaily that Obama’s recent overseas tour blazed a trail that the Antichrist was sure to follow. Faithworld explains that in apocalyptic circles "Antichrist is often
portrayed as the leader of a world government who will probably emerge
from the United Nations or some other multilateral institution loathed by the right.
“… the Bible says that such a leader (the Antichrist) will soon make
his appearance on the scene. It won’t be Barack Obama, but Obama’s
world tour provided a foretaste of the reception he can expect to
receive,” wrote Lindsey,“He will probably also stand in some European capital, addressing
the people of the world and telling them that he is the one that they
have been waiting for. And he can expect as wildly enthusiastic a
greeting as Obama got in Berlin.”
On the other hand, nowhere that I can find in the Apocalypse mentions that the Beast or Antichrist wears natty tailored suits and a grin. It takes a bit of a stretch to see Obama as "a beast coming up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten diadems, and upon his heads names of blasphemy. ... and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion."

Libby;
Is Obama the "Anti-Christ"? In Revealation Chapter 13 "The Beast" is a Metaphor for a Country or Nation. The "Beast" Therefore is the Head of that Nation or Union.
My Speciality in Bible is not trying to define Revealtions. I'll leave that alone.
Barack Obama certainly MAY qualify to be the "Beast" in the Bible we'll just have to wait and see.
He is being Financed and carefully scripted to speak "All the right things". He's carefully dodged all the Questions people here in America need to hear his answers.
Just because somebody is Young and Charismatic doesn't necessarily qualify a person to be a World Leader etc. His Past includes Radical Militants as friends a Church that teaches "Black Liberation theology" and a Muslim Father; which by itself is not a Bad thing but with the Radical Muslims trying to take over will Obama be in sympathy to them down the road?.
Many Questions! The title of "Anti-Christ" fits anyone who is either a non-Christian or a "Christian" who in reality who teaches against God's Word in lieu of False teachings and false doctrines.

Antichrist is G.W BUSH et al. He claimed as follower of Christ but he don't practice peace like Jesus did, but war and war and war...
He can use whatever name and claim but his acts are ANTI thesis of CHRIST.
That is ANTICHRIST

RICK BEEKMAN: I would have expected somebody with any familiarity with the Bible to be able to (at least once) correctly spell "Revelations"; then again, perhaps your work is not to be taken literally.
ALL of the original presidential candidates have dirty laundry, some of it real, some imagined.
Your inexperience of the wider world betrays you in expressing views such as having a Muslim father might make him sympathetic to radical Islam! This thesis might be valid if his father were a radical himself, but if not you are guilty of a significant logic disconnect.
I am not pro-Obama, but I think you should take a long look at what information you consider important when making decisions about his character, & the conclusions you draw from what you hear. It seems to me that one of the main concerns you should have about Obama compared to John McCain is his relative lack of experience, & then the stance he takes on key issues that would drive US domestic & foreign policy. In other words, not seriously wondering if either of the main candidates might be the Anti-Christ!
As for GWB being the Anti-Christ, I might be speaking prematurely, but he's not quite brought about the end of the world (unless he presses all the red buttons on his way out of the White House!).

The word anti-christ in the Greek means "Instead of Christ." You figure it out from there. Who wants to be worshipped instead of Christ? (hint: Satan)
Obama could be a "type" for the antichrist, for the way he believes + teaches doctrine that replaces Christian beliefs; but he's not literally the antichrist just a taste of it.
I.E. Charismatic, friendly, intelligent, good looking and with a mouth that spews a very pleasant sounding flood of lies.
However, unlike the antichrist, he doesn't claim to also be Jesus and ask people to worship him. Not yet anyway LOL
Expect the Antichrist to enter much like you'd expect Jesus to return. Here to save the world from that deadly wound that the One World System will receive. Most people will think it *is* Jesus and worship him.
Satan isn't exactly stupid, he wants to fool everyone and be worshipped, not expose himself as a fraud. According to the bible, he fools the whole world except for those who are still written in the book of Life. Rev 12:9 Rev 13:8 He can't do that if he acts like he does in the books and movies. So don't expect to see him coming like Obama or as a hateful jerk blaspheming Christ and killing people.
Never underestimate your enemy. Satan is not an idiot. The Anti-Christ comes first and pretends to be Jesus returning to save you all. It's just a test to see if you've been paying attention to the bible. Clearly many people still don't.
Good luck, it's not Obama but many are falling for it already.

Pemdun;
Your attack on George Bush is typical Rhetoric from the Left. The Media here in America hates him and let everybody know it daily.
No politician is ever going to even come close to Jesus Christ so your statement is ludicrous.
Simon;
You like me are entitled to your opinions I respect That.
Simon for the record I'm not voting at all this election so I'm not for John Mc Cain either. I will stand on what I posted about Obama. He's a well-scripted and well-coached Phony. He Keeps saying "Change" "Change" Change" Change to what and tell us what your game plan for changing it? Or we hear is him changing his mind every other day on issues like Drilling for Oil First He's totally against it..now he's for it. First He said he would have the troops out of Irag within 180 days now He Flip-Flopped on that etc etc. He needs to answer some tough questions to the American People. He has lot's of "Sizzle"..But where is The Steak? This is commonly called "Pandering" to those he is beholden unto (The Far left...George Soros Moveon.org. etc. another word is Political Expediency. He told us he was in Pastor Wrights' Church for 20 years and said "He nev er knew" Rev. Wright preached Racist anti-Semitism (A Lie) One of his close associates is Prof. William Ayers a Convicted Terrorist from the 60's and on and on Simon.
Lastly what Bill has he ever introduced in his short tenure as U.S. Senator?
He can talk the talk but can he walk the walk?.Inquiring minds need to know!
As far as his Muslim Connections now or prior to his becoming a Candidate..We need to find that out as well. Why? Because if elected he will be the most powerful leader in the world citizens of the U.S. need to know if he is balanced and fair and not Partial. The Muslims have avoved a World takeover..and having a "Great Friend" in The White House would be great for their agenda.
Simon..Have yourself a Great Day..Cheerio!!

as long as the country uses religion as somewhat of a guidline, it will always be in a mess. religion is its very own anti christ.
you are all brainwashed robots.

I do not believe Obama is the anti-Christ. Instead I see an inexperienced politician literally bent on convincing a naive electorate that he IS the New Messiah. So much of his campaign literature and photographs depict him as such. To me, some of the photos, statements and even campaign T-shirts are scary.
One need only look at some of the photographs prepared for his campaign, and find where he is portrayed in typically Eastern Orthodox iconography. Numerous other photographs use backlighting to depict him with with halos or with a luminescence about his head. Campaign buttons and t-shirts with "Messiah2008" and his picture are being sold to raise campaign cash. Photographs are being circulated with his him reaching out to people with a blaze of light at his fingertip. Paintings showing him in a white robe together with a Christ-like "quote" lead the viewer to but on conclusion.
Yes, scary. And some people complain of Bush's unapologetic faith in God?

Kristen;
Thanks for your input. I can't disagree nor totally agree with your Analogy regarding The "Anti-Christ".
A Person who is an "Anti-Christ" Does'nt necessarily come on the scene as a Non-Christian. Read The Following Kristen;
2 John v 7 "For many deceivers are entered into the world who confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an Anti-Christ".
When you review this statement it can apply to other Religions who don't believe Jesus is God. The Muslims believe like their Mohammed Jesus was only a Great Prophet etc.
In Christianity Most Churches teach That Jesus (The Son) is person #2 in a triune godhead. When in Biblical reality he is The eternal Creator God in a Human Body (I Timothy 3 v 16). So when Apostle John makes the statement in the verse we just read; "That Jesus Christ is come in the Flesh. This is a deceiver etc etc".
Your Trinity Beleivers don't believe Jesus Is Both "Father and Son" ONE not One of two.
(John 10 v 30) (I John 2 v 1).
So a "Christian" could be the "Anti-Christ" as well. Did I confuse you? I apologize if I did. I'm open to any further Questions if you wish to do so. Have a Wonderful Day!

Terry;
True Christianity is not a "Religion" it is rather Faith in Jesus Christ and his teachings. Religion has Hi-jacked the word "Christian" and depending what "Christian" Religion it is Has a Bad reputation.
Bob Evans;
Agree with your comments. Thanks for your Revelations...

The most striking description I ever heard of Satan was that he was a gentleman who only came in if invited.
If you want to apply that to a political race I suppose the Antichrist could be a polished figure who is begged to take the reins of office so that he/she can restore order where there is disorder.
David Icke proposes a theory of Problem/Reaction/Solution - a problem is orchestrated by the "global elite", e.g. terrorist attacks on the US, the public react by crying out for a solution, & the "global elite" respond by introducing national security measures that curb everyone's freedoms.
It could be argued that here in the UK knife/gun crime is being hyped up by receiving very close scrutiny, when the London crime statistics actually show a reduction in deaths over the last few months compared to the same months the year before. There are frenzied calls for some type of action (naturally), but what form will the solution take?
Just to put the record straight I am not a follower of David Icke, but he makes challenging comments as well as ridiculous ones.
I do, however, strongly believe that corporations exercise far too much control over government in the West (Eisenhower's warnings about the military-industrial complex were spot on). Whilst I draw the line at reptilian shapeshifters the Problem/Reaction/Solution concept carries some resonance.
Following this through to its natural conclusion maybe it's not the president you should be looking out for; after all, how much influence did Cheney alone exercise during GWB's terms in office?
If Satan IS that smart, he wouldn't make the man at the top the Antichrist, would he? More likely some shadowy industrialist/financier, etc, who could buy the influence he needed.
Rick: You have a great day too, & thanks for your considered response.

Simon;
Good thoughts. As a Minister I Prefer not to really try to pin down who could be The "Anti-Christ" There are so many possibilities and all of them could be wrong!
Satan is very Intelligent devious..and smarter then any of us could ever be. He's been at it for thousands of years and no doubt a Master of Deceit.
II Corinthians 11 v 14; "And No marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an Angel of Light."
Whoever the "Anti-Christ"is going to be; The whole world is going to Love him.
One last verse as I close Simon. This verse warns us not to put our faith in mankind rather all our faith in God who is the only real sourse of help;
Psalms 118 v 8 & 9 "It is better to trust in the Lord then to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in The Lord then to put confidence in princes." Again Simon..Have a Wonderful and Prosperous day!

Go back to playing marbles, you poor sots with too much time on your hands.

Paul OBrien;
Race has nothing to do with Opinions regarding Obama. Reality is a better choice....
Posted by: Rick Beekman | 9 Aug 2008 15:12:46
Bush is the Antichrist, namely Satan. One of Satan’s more devious tricks is a display of incompetence bordering on stupidity, so you underestimate (misunderestimate) him. So perhaps GWB isn’t stupid after all, but rather stupefyingly evil.

FYI Bible bashers, it's Book of Revelation, not Revelations. Just thought I'd clear that one up.
Posted by: Andrew Milner | 11 Aug 2008 01:57:37
Psalms 118:8-9. I take it, Rick, that you won't be voting in November, then?
Posted by: Geoffrey Smith | 13 Aug 2008 13:45:59
Geoffrey;
You are correct! Why vote for either of these two Knuckleheads?
Besides; God will put in there who he wants to fulfill his will. Proof?
#1 Rev. 17 v 17; "For God hath put in their minds to fulfill his will and to agree and give their kingdom unto the beast until the words of God shall be fulfilled." Who God allows to be President is'nt Necessarily a good thing for Americans but God has reasons. The Bible also states God builds up Kingdoms and tears them down as well.
Posted by: Rick Beekman | 14 Aug 2008 15:52:08
Obama and McCain are not the only candidates for the White House, Rick. Why not vote for one of the 'outsiders'? He just might be the one that God has in mind to fulfill His will, don't you think?
JFK for instance. God allowed him to become president in order to fulfill His will, right? Why not Alan Keyes or Sam Brownback?
Posted by: Geoffrey Smith | 14 Aug 2008 18:05:52
Geoffrey;
Naw..I've lost my touch I voted for Busch Twice need I say anymore?!! I'll let The Lord put in there who he wants..I'm done (For now)..Have a Blessed Day!
