Holy women writing vampire novels, latest

What is it about women, vampires, zombies and religion? Stephenie Meyer is a "Mormon Mum" who in the footsteps of bestseller Anne Rice writes vampire books with 'teachable' messages of a religious nature. A faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and graduate of Brigham Young University, says she has become accustomed to people asking her, "What's a nice Mormon girl like you doing writing about vampires?" But its OK. The message is holy. Meanwhile the original vampire teen novelist Anne Rice has returned to the Catholic Church and written religious novels and now a memoir "Called Out of Darkness: A Spiritual Confession,'' The report says she summons up her Catholic girlhood "with sensual detail, lavishing the same attention on religious artifacts that she once gave to a vampire's imagined kiss" . Oo-er. If you prefer a stricter attitude, Christianity Today has condemned Buffy the Vampire Slayer as early as 2002, and if you want academe, here is a learned pamphlet on vampires and Slavic Christianity. Apparently you can fob them off with millet seeds, whicih explains why so few budgerigars fall prey to vampire attacks.

Few men, even men of the cloth, find it hard to resist a georgeous vampire.

Isn't 'hard' supposed to read 'easy' here?

Did you read the article you linked to in Christianity Today? It doesn't condemn Buffy at all, in fact it is all about why Christians can watch and enjoy the show. It's an interesting article actually, so it's a shame it's being misrepresented in this post.
