Darwin's birthday - the Creationist backlash
Bess writes: It was bound to happen. The celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth have prompted a Creationist backlash. According to US News Answers in Genesis, a Christian ministry whose tagline is “Believing it, defending it, proclaiming it” is holding anti-Darwin conferences on the East and West coasts of the US this month. The aim? To help Americans “understand that Darwinian evolution is wrong and that it has undermined the Christian faith and has fuelled social ills like racism and abortion.”
Of course, not all Christians oppose the theory of evolution as we reported this week.
