Obama's official site rebuts Muslim rumour

Bess writes: Is he or isn’t he? Muslim or Christian? Persistent rumours that Obama either is or has been  a closet Muslim have now stirred his “staffers” into action. Newsday reports that members of Obama's communications, research and policy team are launching fightthesmears.com
a website set up specifically to counter false rumours about his religious beliefs and patriotism.
The page lists  alleged "smears", denounced as "lies" with the "truth" printed underneath. As far as Obama's alleged Muslim links go, the site trashes three particularly persistent rumours: that Obama was brought up a Muslim, that he attended a "radical Madrassah" (his Indonesian primary school is shown on a CNN report) and was sworn into the US Senate using the Koran. An accompanying message on the site reads: "Friend --You may have recently heard right-wing smears questioning Barack Obama's Christian faith. These assertions are completely false and designed to play into the worst kind of stereotypes."

Obama and the Maharishi..

Senator Barak Obama, high-flying candidate, has visited the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's community in Iowa..the community has been there forty years since the Maharishi founded it.  If you want more, the BBC site has it. Makes a change from that Superman photo, anyway..
