Britney considers role as Virgin

After 'confessing all' Britney Spears is now reportedly in talks with the producers of Sweet Baby Jesus, a film of the nativity. Ms Spears is considering the role of the Virgin Mary.

The revered part has previously been played by 16-year-old New Zealander Keisha Castle-Hughes in The Nativity Story, who announced she was pregnant only weeks after finishing shooting the film last year.

Jewish Romanian actress Maia Morgensetern, the daughter of a Holocaust survivor played the mother of Jesus in Mel Gibson's The Passion the Christ.

Helen Hunt took up the part in The Nativity in 1986 to provide the voice in the animated version of the Christmas story. Ruth Hussey was possibly the most ironically named actress to take the part in a 1951 TV show. Madame Moreau played the Virgin in La Vie et la passion de Jesus Christ back in 1903.

Britney confesses all

Oh dear.  Britney Spears has done it again, poor troubled manipulated messed-up kid that she is. In a new video she will be, abc news assures us, seen leaning seductively against a confessional box as a devilishly handsome young priest listens to her sins,  and subsequently sitting on his lap.  In the confessional, no less. There will be outrage, which is exactly the kind of publicity her horrid handlers want. Let all charitable Catholics refrain from joining in.

   Luckily this blog is too high-minded to offer a pic of Britney in black stockings,  so here instead is the last devilishly-handsome TV priest to upset the applecart.
