Those of us rushing towards cinemas to weep over the Edith Piaf biopic La Vie En Rose will find that in a life of lovers, tragedies, diva behaviour and avowals of "Je ne regrette rien!",  Piaf had a great devotion to St Teresa of Lisieux.  She prayed before every concert and credited the saint with curing her childhood blindness.
