In the interests of a quiet life

I see that, as always, the Anfield contingent has been out in force in the build-up to this game.

"Gerrard backs Torres". "Carragher backs Gerrard". "Rafa backs the referee". There's more backing at Anfield than you'd get at a Carribbean hotel jolly for drunken venture capitalists.

So the Chelsea column is going to remain studiously quiet. No lengthy preamble from US, no sir. Although we will state, quite clearly, that if Essien is relegated to right-back by Lampard's return to the squad / team today, then Grant deserves to lose both this game and his job.

That's it. No shouting. No tub-thumping. We at CFCnet are not of this breed of Scouser. Enough talk. Let's play football, please.

I'd play a right-back at right-back - we do have two of them - and play Essien alongside Ballack with Frank on the bench.
