Are Boro Safe?

With two games remaining, Boro are just above the relegation zone. It is possible for Middlesbrough to go down. Will they? or will they stay up?

Gareth Southgate has seen his side outplay Manchester United, rattle Chelsea at the Bridge and draw at the Emirates in recent weeks, but sees his side just above the relegation zone.

How have Boro got in this position? Well, they have been lackluster against teams like Bolton and Reading at home. If the chances we had created in these games had been taken then, Boro would be safe already.

Southgate has got to address the problem the team have when playing bottom half teams. This season, like previous ones, Gareth has seen the team perform abysmal against technically lower standard opposition.

Something for the Boro boss to think about over the summer maybe?! There is no point in beating or drawing with the top teams if your going to lose to teams lower in the league than ourselves. So frustrating for any Boro fan!

Is it the mentality of the players going into the game?, whether it be a big game or not, or is it the lack of motivation by back room staff?

I'm hoping the Boro lads can respond to the defeat at Sunderland last Saturday and put in a good performance at home to Pompey this Saturday.

Up The Boro
