Just Say No
Why have Tottenham failed to procure a win this season ? Why have they failed to hit the net regularly ? Why have they failed to look a like a team ? Well, let's take a look ...
It is hardly surprising when the team have
no prolific goalscorer
no service of the type the strikers they do have need
no leader on the pitch
no direction on how they are fitting together as a team
no pattern of play within the squad
no depth of squad
no confidence in wanting the ball or doing something positive with it when they do get it
no grafters who will battle their way out of the situation they find themselves in
no passion from the manamgement team, which is surprising with Poyet there
The squad looks short on the back of the programme, let alone once it gets on the pitch. The players are not really having to battle for their places, as there are no real contenders to come in to replace them. There is a lot of youth in the side, which is fine when thigs are going well, but without that success, they all look to ... who, for leadership ? Jenas and Woodgate are the most experienced players and for all their games played are not fist clenching, up-and-at-'em types.
Things look bad when we have had better starts to the season than this and still been relegated. I for one am seriously worried, as I don't accept all this talk about "there are a quality bunch of players there and when they get their first win it will all fall into place."
What we really needed from the board and Sporting Director were the players for Ramos to do the job with and to have them before the season started.
I would rather have points in the bag than money in the bank.
