That lunch menu in full

Honda_001For those of you(such as my sister) who are interested in Formula One food(following on from my breakfast with JYS in Melbourne), here is what the good people at Honda laid on for our lunch at Sepang on Friday. Food at Honda is always among the best in the paddock and their waiting staff are among the friendliest, even if their uniform this season is a shocker.  I had the prawns(delicious and served piping hot), the red snapper and the lemon tart which was absolutely top dollar; tart, lemony and not too big. Still, a trip to the gym cannot be far away.Honda_003 (Click on images to enlarge).

A friend of mine always says when I invite him to have lunch or dinner at home:

“That’s really wonderful, much better than the same you find at the restaurants at a very expensive price”

Every time he comments that, I ask myself if he really appreciates the food or what he appreciates is just that is “for free”.

I’m wondering myself if that lemon tart was truly extraordinary if you should have to pay for.

Anyhow, being little bit more serious, it is nice to see the efforts of the teams to guest people using high quality standards, keeping in mind the facilities they have for doing it.

Maybe IDR should open a restaurant?

The snapper sounds good for tonight and the lamb dish commends itself for Easter Sunday luncheon.

Thanks, Ed!

On the uniforms from Honda...I don't think the teams necessarily need to exhibit high fashion. Something functional that themes with the livery so there is a "team look" is about all that should be expected...but when the garishness of the uniform is practically the talk of the season it certainly needs a rethink. I'd love to meet the person that looked at that green costume (uniform gives it a dignity it doesn't achieve) and said, "yes, that's the look we need to project"--as well as all the "yes men" down the line that agreed. I know it's about the team being "green"...but to paraphrase Kermit the frog..."it ain't easy wearing green"...probably a sentiment widely held within the Honda team.

D,

You're not the first in suggesting that, but ask my wife, She's the chef, not me.

Anyhow, If open it, be sure that you will be quite happy with the wine cellar!

Word has it that the colour and the outfits were thought up by the guys who built last year's car...

PS. Loved your "Pole on Pole" dream headline. :-)

I'm sure I'd very much enjoy sharing a bottle with mine host, while Senora IDR rustles up her magic in the kitchen.

What is in Ferrari's menu? Sour grapes?

Tasty. I just finished breakfast and I'm hungry again. Where are these restaurants? Does every team have its own HQ w/ food served? Or is Honda giving up on racing and making restaurants?

Excellent. Glad to know you're eating well. Have another spot in the gym with Lewis; he needs to remain relaxed and a good laugh with you (at you?) should do it, Ed.

Now you're talking, all that lovely fish and tangy lemon tart too, a good entry for us 'how does F1 work behind the scenes' enquirers. Thank you Ed.
