Your main reason for witholding the third cheer appears to be a concern that "most foundations tilt left when their founders pass away and the next generation takes over".
How dreadful that the super rich should betray their class by doing something for the poor. Is the very notion of giving "From each according to their ability, to each according to their need" Karl Marx - not a Marxist - not to say communist one?
One might also say it is a Christian imperative, but that wouldn't suit your neo-conservative agenda, would it?

"In the end, the main reason to withhold that last cheer is the perpetual power that this private foundation will have." This is a must read!
