As expected, Kenya romped home with the ICC World Cricket League today, demolishing Scotland by eight wickets in the final. After bowling the Scots out for 155, Kenya eased their way over the line with 12 overs to spare. England, for all their winning two one-day matches in a row, ought to be wary. The Kenyans are their first opponents in the World Cup.
The averages for the six-team tournament make interesting reading. Kenya had three batsmen (Odoyo, Mishra and Obuya) who averaged more than 50, but Ireland, who won only one game, had five with averages of more than 50. Onyango and Ongondo headed the bowling field, taking 20 wickets between them at an average of less than 13, while four Dutchmen are in the top ten. Scotland, despite being the only side to beat Kenya (in the group stage), have only one bowler and no batsmen in the top ten of the averages.

Perhaps Kenya will replace England in the top ten. It's about time we saw some new faces on the circuit. Mind you, England change their line-up so often you think it is a new team!
