Ann Treneman's 45-second sketch

The Times sketchwriter Ann Treneman has done a 45-second mini-vidi-sketch on Prime Minister's Questions for Red Box. Due to a small technical glitch, she is not the right way up. A sort of sideways look at politics. This will be corrected before next week's PMQs. Probably.

why is she on her side?

Because I filmed it the wrong way up and am too techically incompetent to correct it

Ann remarks that Brown has started asking Cameron questions instead of answering them. That's not quite right. Brown has finally learned to distinguish between real questions of substance, which he answers, and rhetorical flourishes, which he now either ignores or ridicules as lacking in substance, His latest tactic is to throw the question back to remind the electorate that there's a choice between policies. I think Brown has cracked it. His last two PMQs have been interesting tactically. He's not going to answer non-questions from Cameron. His mistake last year was to treat them as questions. It's over for Cameron.

In fact Cameron's question on how much taxpayers were exposed to on Northern Rock was a question of fact and substance. It was an utter disgrace that Brown ran away from answering it. There is no way that Brown has cracked PMQ's.In fact its almost too easy for Cameron these days to the point that its like Australia playing cricket - you know that they are going to win.

So if you filmed it the wrong way round, what was the 'technical glitch'? Or have you been spending too much time around politicians and picked up the habit of blaming someone/something else? :-)

Dear Ann,

I laughed and laughed ( which is actually difficult with a dysfuntional 21 year old boy); it sounds like points of view does'nt it ... but your " Gordon banks birthday wishes..... etc" was fabulous. Much fun and inner mirth. Please keep up your usual high standards. After all their still a bunch of bastards!
