Lord Ashcroft to speak for the first time in two years
He's back. Lord Ashcroft is tonight expected to make his first intervention in the Lords since November 23 2006. The controversial peer, whose runs polling and marginal seat operations for the Conservatives and whose tax status is still unclear, has put his name down to speak in a debate on the health of the working age population. This will be his fifth speech in the Lords, all of the others having been in the debate on the gracious address. Raised eyebrows on the red benches at this hitherto unknown Ashcroftian passion.

Good! High time we heard more from him. I don't always agree with what he thinks/says, but he's usually interesting.
