Rafa Nadal blogs every day during the US Open

Rafaolympics Rafa took you every step of the way in this blog as he won Wimbledon this summer after an epic final against Roger Federer. Since then, he's knocked his fiercest rival off the No 1 spot and added an Olympic gold medal to his already overspilling trophy cabinet.

You'll be pleased to know that the man from Manacor will return to Times Online on Sunday evening, giving you the daily lowdown on his quest to win the US Open and once again answering your questions, which you can e-mail to him here.

Rafa: Disappointed of your loss at U.S. Open. Murray looked angry and all fired-up; he didn't look that way for Federer. Were these matches fixed? I hope you study those matches closely. You are the best but must go in at the net more and practice on serving more aces; you can do it. Please work on these 2 things (easy for me to say).Murray seemed to hold back with Federer and I think because of all his endorsements and contracts (Federer) he had a lot a stake; Murray was an easy win. Murray seemed to do what he was expected to do.He was definitely slower and no challenge for Federer. Rafael, you are still #1 and superior to all.

My thoughts are with you at this trying time with the rain delay, may you have a good rest and be ready to fight hard tomorrow.
All my best wishes and love.

Wishing you victory in your semifinal today! You are the hero and inspiration of many-- especially me. May all your dreams come true! No one deserves it more! Vamos Rafa #1 del mundo y mi corazon!

Rafa, you are the best.

Don't accept to play late in the evening today or worse two matches in a row tomorrow if Federer/Djokovic had played their match. It would be unfair. You are the number one. Stick to your rights. A kiss from Italy. PAT

Hola Rafa,
Just another step closer to your first US Open Trophy. I wish you the very, very best of luck in your match against Andy Murray. I'm in India for over 8 months but I haven't missed any of your matches, even if it means keeping awake the whole night and I'm waiting for you to hold up that trophy and then take a bite. Te quiero Rafa, Te quiero. Have a fantastic day. Take Care. Vamos Rafa!

Rafa: Congrats on advancing to the semis!

Thanks for the blog! I loved the picture of the Brazil Day parade that you guys ran into walking home from dinner in NYC.

You are an inspiration in every way. Such grace and humility. You bring great dignity to your sport, as well as your unbeatable backhand!

Also...thanks for the red pants!

Hello Rafa,

Please express our gratitude to Uncle Toni for being such an outstanding coach and for grooming you to be the special person that you are. Your pleasing ways and exceptional skills have captured many hearts. It would be one of the happiest moments in my life if you could carve out another piece of history by hoisting the US Open Championship trophy on September 7th. I am believing in your ability to make it happen! Wishing you the best always!

Posted by: Mary | 3 Sep 2008 03:39:23

Oh Rafa
You scared me to death during the Sam Q. match, but deep down I just knew your heart and "fight" would kick in-----I knew you'd never give up. But my nerves were shot! Please please fight hard against Fish......break his confidence! I'm so nervous about the match but I'm going to watch it even if it kills me! The Open is "almost" done.....then you can go home to rest. Please keep fighting for just a little longer. You deserve this championship more than anyone else on the tour.....this is your time!

In your match against Querrey you had us afraid,
After a good start your momentum strayed,
But with millions of fans wishing you'd win,
You dug really deep and socked it to him!
When under threat you still found a way,
To win the match and make my day,
I'm so very proud of the way you pulled through,
Enjoy your rest cos I care about you.

Good luck against Fish, I'll be cheering you on from the sofa!
lots of love
Julie
Good luck against Fish

Thanks for the wonderful game. Looking forward to the Qfinal. Good Luck !
