Questions for Rafa: bungee jumping and sky-diving - I'm too scared

Bungee Send Rafa your questions

What films have you watched during your time in New York? Daphnee Cruz
RN: I have seen a new TV series called "Heroes".

You keep saying you like Spanish music – can you be more specific?  Manu Chao, Shakira, Kinky, Mana?  Or do you like Gypsy Kings, native music from Spain? Mary Yeomanson
RN: Believe it or not I am listening to Julio Iglesias, Mana, Alejandr Sanz and many others

Would you auction some of your personal items to raise money for your foundation? Julie from UK
RN: Yes, I give always stuff for that or to give away to people that ask my team so that they can auction it and make money for their charities

Do you customise your racquet? Alexis Grohmann
RN: It is specially made for me.

Is it tougher to play against taller players and if so, how? Frances
RN: On hard and fast surfaces yes due to their big serve.

If could add one shot to your game from any of the current players, men or women, which one would you choose? Peter, New York
RN: There are many shots from Roger I would love to have... but this is not possible so I focus in improving my game and my shots.

Would you ever try skydiving or bungee jumping? Lauri
RN: None of those - too scary

Your uncle Toni always seems so soft-spoken, calm and easy-going. Is he like this as a coach with you or is he usually tough on you? Janice
RN: He is tough and has been tough but at the same time he is important for me.

Do you feel any different being number one in the world? Sandy
RN: Not really.

Do you plan to play any more doubles in future Slams/Masters? Judy
RN: Not at Slams since it takes too much energy

It took heaven-sent help in the form of rain to end your uncharateristic on-court " blues". This bit of divine intervention hints that even the great "weatherman" up above is cheering for you !!!

Hit your "Refresh" button tonight, El Rafa : regroup, relax & rest ; tomorrow return with renewed fervour and take care of business !!! You ( # 1), more than any other player, can turn the match around 180 degrees from the brink of disaster, in your favour ( and ours , the " rafaholics anonymous" ). Victory is yours ! Take It !!!

" Vamos " " Ahora " " Si " & " Come On " even.

Hi Rafa,
I am nervous like may be the rest of the fans, but right now you are playing against Andy and the score is 1-1, well I have to say this one more time, thank you so much for a wonderful year, you made it fun for my mum and me, as we are the only 2 Rafa fans in our family, the rest are all for Roger, so with all your wins you have also made us winners too. I wish you all the best for the indoor season and also of course the Davis Cup. See you in MC in 2009.
Love and Lots of Luck Always.

Rafa, as this blog shows you have captured the hearts of so many, young and old and from all areas of the world. For me, it's because you play with heart. As your recent award shows, it's not just who you are on the court but off the court. Congratulations for all of your success in both areas of your life. You are a true champion and worthy of this slam title. VAMOS, RAFA! I can't wait to see your name on the list of US Open Champions.

Hey Rafa! Enjoying your blogs so much! Your comment about the putting...too funny! Sometimes I think all us golfers are masochistic. Gotta love the game.

Congratulations on your latest Prince of Asturias award. From the standpoint of this fan, it is well-deserved. You should be so proud. You present yourself well and are respected by many...such a fine example for those that will follow you.

Hope you're enjoying your "rest" day, and I'll be looking forward to your match with Murray tomorrow. Oh! ...and I have no problem with this being a UK site...I'll be cheering for YOU!! Vamos Rafa!!!!

I love watching "Heroes" too. Don't you agree that the character Peter Petrelli looks a little bit like Djokovic? LOL

Posted by: Kate | 5 Sep 2008 16:26:29

Rafa, did you watch season 1 or 2 of heroes? Do people tell you that you look like Santiago Cabrera who plays Isaac Mendez? Lol

Ola Rafa,

I will say it for Cheryl and the rest of your fans around the World,
Vamos Rafa, Go Kick Andy's Bootie. ( I too like Andy) But nothing compared to how much I like you.

Game Set Match Trophy to Rafael Nadal.

Rafa good luck on Saturday, hope rain won't spoil your matches. You deserve to win, you totally rock!

Mana is great music! Excellent choice.
Good luck against Murray. This may be a British site but it's on the web, so it's International... meaning: many of us readers are not rooting for Murray at all!

Rafa,

your wonderful ability to play tennis and physical strengh come from Heaven.

Do you pray before a match?

Posted by: emma | 5 Sep 2008 11:05:04

I'm glad to hear you aren't doing any bungee jumping, I think sky-diving sounds fun though.

Anyway, I was being very polite since this is a UK website and I do like Andy a lot, however I just read from the "Daily Record" (UK) that he's ready to shoot you down!! I know you'll be tough, you always are, even when you play friends.

BEST OF LUCK!! I won't say "Kick Some Bootie" out of respect for Andy!! - That's what I'm thinking though. :>)

VAMOS RAFA!!

Hi Rafa

Will you continue the Blog after the US Open? I can't live without my daily fix.
I'm a Brit (half Scottish) but you are still my favourite, good luck for the semi's.
