Christmas is a (psychometric) testing time
We know that entrepreneurs and businesspeople plan to work right through Christmas (thanks, Carol) but what's perhaps less well-known is that plenty of everyday employees spend at least part of the 25th logged on to online job boards in search of new professional homes. (A recruitment consultant told me this a while ago, though for the life of me I can't remember his name so I can't give him credit - sorry).
But if you're not quite sure what sort of new career would suit you - or if you want to get some practice in before facing an assessment centre - why not spend the holiday season doing psychometric tests? SHL, a firm of occupational psychologists, offer examples of inductive reasoning questions (the sort that indicate whether you're a creative problem-solving type) as well as the chance to win an iPod if you complete one of their (free) full-length trial tests by January 14th.
