Proof that work is no laughing matter

Abc_gma_dilbert_edit_080221_msWhat do you think of your manager? A dynamic leader or a drunken lemur? If it's the latter, I hope you manage to hide your disappointment unlike Dave Steward, a security guard at Catfish Bend Casino in Burlington, Iowa, who chose to fight back and lost his job. Steward was fired after putting a Dilbert cartoon that compared managers to drunken lemurs on the staff bulletin board. His act of subversion was unfortunately caught on CCTV.

In response Scott Adams, Dilbert's creator, decided to post Steward's CV on his blog to help him to find another job.  Readers also lent a hand and helped to spruce up Steward's details, BusinessWeek (March 31) reports.

Adams is also helping Steward to get even in his own way. In a recent cartoon strip, Wally is told that he won't be eligible for employment benefits unless he can prove that he was stupid in posting the cartoon, as opposed to malicious. "Well," Wally quips. "Is there another explanation for working here?"

Whoever says that they've never felt that way after a particularly frustrating day at work has definitely had one too many.
