Star signs in the office
It is almost certainly a quirk of birth but I know a lot of Steves aged about 40 years old who live in the South East of England. This is excellent news should I be in need of a man to wine and dine me in the manner to which I could easily become accustomed.
A survey of more than 850,000 jobseekers conducted by reed.co.uk suggests that Steves aged between 40 and 50, who are Capricorns, and live in the South of England are the most ambitious people in the UK - ie they expect to earn the most money.
No you don't need to reread that, it does say Capricorns. Now the Steves I know hold a range of positions including bakers, cartoonists, journalists and management consultants. All are extremely nice people who are successful at what they have chosen to do. But none, I think, are Capricorns.
This prompted me to research deeper. Can your star sign really be an indicator of your success at work or earning potential?
Reed.co.uk suggest that Virgo is the least ambitious sign. However 70 out of 613 billionaires on Forbes 2006 rich list were Virgos - including Warren Buffet - which proves that this star sign is where it's at, surely?
Surely not, 70 out of 613 is just over 11 per cent - hardly conclusive. Bill Gates is a Scorpio.
Even if not an accurate - or indeed any - indicator of earning potential your star sign is believed to influence your working style according to psychic pundits.
As a Libran boss I "will strive for fairness in both distribution of workload and how each person is treated, regardless of gender or rank", according to tarot.com.
And a word of advice for underlings from career.astrology.com "To please your Libra manager, avoid being loud or argumentative."
Astrology 101 gives advice on how to manipulate your boss depending on his or her star sign: "Libras are master manipulators and love having the inside track, so make yourself indispensable by finding and relaying all the best company gossip."
And someone called 'left-hander' writes on eHow that Libran bosses "can be easily offended, so display good manners at all times."
So Carly and Clare listen up. Don't be loud and obnoxious and all will go smoothly in the Career department. (Although maybe I ought to beware - Carly is a Capricorn)
But surely all this is so vague and general as to be meaningless? There is only one person who can give us the definitive answer. Yep, you've guessed it. Mystic Meg (pictured). Today she doesn't mention ambition or money for either Capricorns or Virgos.
No best off today in Meg's opinion are Cancerians as the "moon focuses on your job chart so even if you don't see yourself as ambitious, today you are ready to say yes to opportunities that open up for you ...Luck arrives wearing silver trainers."

Hello there,
my name is Many and I come from Germany. I have just read the article and your comment (or rather question) to it.
I am aquarius myself (born on the 10th of February) and I run my own little language school.
Up to now it seems to be working well and I surely hope that it's even gonna wotk better in future. Thus, I would also say that our will to succeed is quite big. However, it seems to be a matter of character as well for I am sure that there are as many aquarians who do not think like we do.
All the best for the future

Your star sign certainly affects your education potential. Those born in September are 20% more likely to attend university, with all the extra earning potential it brings, than those born in August. The latter are virtually a year younger when they start school, a big difference at age 4-5, and often never catch up.

I am an Aries. I am a professional author. I have represented GB in two different sports. I currently shoot, fish, and teach one of the martial arts as hobbies. I am married to an attractive Leo, which is all as it should be, I'm told. I think astrology is a load of rubbish.

I have decided to respond to those who posted their thoughts on the 19th March, 1st April and 2nd April.
To Many of Germany who has a language school. I too hope your language school is 'gonna wokt'
Be optimistic: Many are.
To Joe. Are you sure that it is the star sign that is the problem, rather than the education system?
And to Patience. Yes I can tell you what your star holds for you. Send money.

I have always been curious about something. If you were a premature baby and came out early ( I came out at 6 months ) should you really be a different birth sign ?
I am a taurus and have decided to start a web based business
