Tough to see Monzon out of frame
Some low-grade fare before the real action starts at Cheltenham tomorrow, but Monzon (4.20 Taunton) looks reasonable each-way value at the 8-1 offered by Coral and William Hill this morning.
Highly tried over fences earlier this season - he was last of six behind Master Minded and co at Newbury a month ago - he looked much happier back over the smaller obstacles when third at Folkestone last time. Monzon travelled best for a long way there, shaping as though this drop in trip would be much in his favour, and he should not be far away.
On the betting exchanges, Manhattan Boy (2.50 Taunton) looks a short-priced favourite to oppose. He was already struggling when unseating his rider at the last at Stratford last time (he was remounted to claim fourth prize-money) and in any case he is not the most wlling partner if it comes to a driving finish. Lay him at around 1.55.
