Animator can spring to life

Animator (3.10 Kempton Park) rates a fair bet at 100-30 with Paddy Power and totesport to make a winning reappearance.

He was brought along steadily by Terry Mills last year, hinting at ability on his first three starts before getting off the mark over an extended mile at Wolverhampton in November.  Given a four-month break since then, he should be freshened up for this return to action looks to have been let in lightly for this handicap debut.  With this step up in trip sure to suit, he looks sure to go close.

On the betting exchanges, My Shadow (4.40 Kempton) looks a favourite worth opposing.  He was held up well off the pace before staying on strongly to lead close home when winning at Lingfield last time, but those tactics will be less well suited by this speed-favouring track.  With several lightly-raced and well-bred types in opposition (notably Sarah's First, Peas In A Pod and Hla Tun), it will be surprising if My Shadow can defy a 6lb penalty and he is worth laying for a place at around 1.4.
