Chelsea are in pole position

Chelsea are 8-15 to qualify for the Champions League final with Ladbrokes after a scrambling a last-gasp  draw with Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night.

Avram Grant's men, who had a Jon Arne Riise own goal to thank for their life-line, have been cut from 3-1 to 9-4 to lift the trophy.

Robin Hutchison, of Ladbrokes, said on Wednesday: "The result on the night was a stinker for the punters but Chelsea are now a £50,000 loser for us in the outright book."

Manchester United remain favourites to win the tournament at 13-8, but Liverpool, matched at 1.01 on Betfair to beat Chelsea, are out to 4-1 from 3-1.

Those punters who took the 8-15 about last night's match producing two goals or fewer had few anxious moments. Liverpool and Chelsea have met seven times in the Champions League in the past three years and never has the fixture yielded three goals or more.
